Reviews for "Grave 3"

I had some issues.

It's not terrible. The work that went into this is evident, the damage models are nice, and i kinda liked the ability to switch off onehanding vs dual-wielding.

There's really nothing original or particularly new about this, though, it's a Doom 3 knockoff through and through - the part with the chainsaw guy in the darkness was particularly groan-inspiring. Graphics were not good, but servicable.

I had some issues with the game's tendancy to be overly cheap - on occasion it seemed impossible to avoid getting hit, and some monsters seem to take one or two hits to kill while other - the same monsters, mind you, just in different locations - required me to unload everything i had into them to make them explode.

Also, the scripting is sluggish - it detracts from the pace you're looking for when our fearless hero does a lot of standing around and staring off into space before eventually moving on.

Not particularly good, but not bad.

FrostedMuffins responds:

There is only one instance in which it is impossible to not get hit, the chainsaw guy. And even then, I usually kill him with only taking 2 or 3 damage. "fearless hero does a lot of standing around and staring off into space" that made me laugh. Yeah, you're right, I didn't think about that while making it. I'll make future games better. Thanks for the review.

A bit rough around the edges

Not a bad game at all really. I'd suggest an option to pick up extra ammo/explosives and to speed up the game a bit more. The rate of fire does feel slow and there was a feeling of cheap hits from enemies. Perhaps first aid kits in future as well. Can't wait to see your next work!

FrostedMuffins responds:

Thanks for the suggestions and glad you enjoyed it!

Uh...

Lets be honest, kinda crappy. BTW if you dual wield shotguns, that means the guy has a total of like four arms.

FrostedMuffins responds:

There is a way to duel wield shotguns actually, as silent assassin already said, you cock by taking off the hammer lock. Glad you liked it.

hmmm

Uhh.. I dont even know where to start... the graphics were horrible, maybe you should find someone else to draw for you cause they looked really bad. Next the guns were very slow, must have been atleast 5 seconds between each shot, and the Dual Wield function didnt add any difference to the power of the guns. The text at the top of the screen was extremly slow, load times for your next movement were long and im not even going to start on how bad the chainsaw "zombie" was. Better luck next time.

FrostedMuffins responds:

The duel wield function, did add a difference to the gun. When each gun is fired a hitzone appears on the crosshair. The target then checks for the hitzones, so if there are two pistol zones, it doubles the damage a pistol would do to it. etc...
Lots of people liked the chainsaw guy, but hey, you're intitled to your own opinion and I respect it. I'm sorry that you weren't able to enjoy my game.

I'll make more, at least of the same genre. Thanks for the review!
