Talented creator... yet strangely dissatisfying.

I dunno. Perhaps it was the fact that the voices held no emotion. Yeah, I think that was it. There's nothing worse than a good storyline and very convincing illustrations sharing the screen with bad acting. If you could scream with true angst, then maybe the movie would mean something.
