Reviews for "Video Game Sim"

A brief comment

Your equation is completely off track. For example, in the ice cream parlor, you claim that the equation is:
wage = (int + str/2) *2
When in reality it is simply [(int+str)/2]*2 = int + str.
Note how order of operations works.

Secondly, what was the point of the movie theater? It seemed to provide no benefit in any area, other than wasting money.

Third, as some kind people have pointed out in the past, it seems like a waste to put so many study/strength/gaming options when clearly the most beneficial is the one requiring 2/10hp for reasons previous described. If the sole reason this is the case is that it takes more time to click through the menus numerous times, then I suggest altering this.

Fourthly, as also people mentioned, it would seem ridiculous to lose health when nothing has been done, especially when there are no instructions that provide proper context so that unnecessary life is lost.

Fifthly, the choices are few and far in between that it's pointless to place the ice cream parlor outside the city. Let's count the total things we can do.

1. Home.
A. Play games.
B. Sleep.
2. Ice Cream Parlor.
A. Work.
3. City.
A. Work
B. Study
C. Gym
D. Games.
4. Movie Theater
A. Movies.

Limited options abound. In terms of roaming the city, it seems incredibly mundane, something that I don't feel that I would spend more time on in the meantime.

crazay

not bad i geuss. but why does it cost 1000 dollars to enter a game tourney with a prize of 3000? thats messed up. also when your training stuff it costs 90hp to get 15 points and 10 hp to get 2 points so if you do the 10 hp thing 10 times you get 20 skill points??? would be decent if it had those minigames...dont submit your work unless its complete. I have it a 2

I'm going away on vaction till August soon so I wanted to get something done before then.

A few things that needs to improve/change

1. Like someone already said, give us an option to mute.

2. Give us an option to skip the screens when we study.

3. The study doesn't make much sense. If you are spending more energy, your Hp / Points gained ratio should be higher, not lower. Think buying from wholesale, you buy more at once, you get it for cheaper, not the other way around. You basically took away any strategy in that sense since all we have to do is just keep clicking on the 10 HP one and get most out of our HP. If you look at any other sim games that gives you more than 1 study options, you can see that they all work the other way.

4. Also, I clicked on "enter video game tournament" but I didn't click on any of the actual tournament since I didn't know it cost $1000 and yet I lost my 100 energy. Now where's the sense in that? Same with the theater, if I don't actually watch a movie, my energy shouldn't be taken away.

Overall, I think the game concept is good and it's pretty fun. Nice to have another sim type games. You just need to tinker some stuff to make it more player friendly and it would be a lot more enjoyable.

DaxFire responds:

I'll fix most of that stuff in time for version 2.

It is ok.

Make a fucking mute button so I can listen to my own music instead of the same Mario music for an hour and I will play more than 10 minutes of it. Also, the game moves very slowly so make an option to take out the cutscenes. It is really annoying when you train 10 times a day for something and have to watch the same cutscene 10 times in a row. The game itself is pretty good...it is pretty much the same as all the other sims on Newgrounds...it's just video games this time.

It was okay

It wasnt the greatest sim, but it was okay.

Not a really hard sim to do, considering the time limit of 80 days, you could easily max out your stats in less then 45 days w/ 10 stats minimum and still have left over time to earn cash. There wasnt alot to do, and it wasnt the best grapihcs [but atleast it wasnt poorly drawn either] The equation (Int + Str / 2) x 2 is wrong... If i had 10 Strength/Intelligence it got me $20, its supposed to give 30 because

(10 + 10 / 2) x 2
(10 + 5) x 2
15 x 2 = 30

For all of you who think (10 + 10 / 2) x 2 = 20 .... You should know the order of operations.

DaxFire responds:

its actually (10 + 10) / 2 x 2
