Reviews for "GreenCastle: DoubleExodus"

Ole Skool sophistication!

This game reminds me of Lufia and Final Fantasy 2 and all the other NES games I used to play in the late 80s and early 90s. It going on my favorites.

Awesome game!

I've been playing off and on for about the last 2 months, and I finally beat it! :D The game rocks! It's an incredibly complex game for something that was done at home. (No offense) I mean, I don't have any flash experience, so I didn't know that level of depth was possible in a flash made game. A month and a half? I'd have guessed a lot longer than that! Excellent job!

I wanted to wait til I had beaten it to make a review. It was kinda hard to gain levels right out of the first (Eagle?) palace. I had to beat somebody and then save cuz the birds were very good at killing me. :) Excellent story line, fight sequences, enemies, music and sound effects. I got everyone up to at least level 9 on everything. Sometimes it was hard to gain levels, but all was still ok. I hope more people find this game in the maze that is Newgrounds. It's well worth it. :)

WOW URE MY HERO!

How do you change elements?

GreenCastle responds:

Find and equip different weapons.

Also, some items can change the element you attack with, for instance the KrisKnife makes you attack with Metal regardless of what your weapon is.

Different armor makes you strong against different elements - but could make you weak against other elements.

way excelent not even i can think of such good rpg

man id give you 1000/10 but i cant
but is there any other allies apart from kris
and kyle cause there to similar i nearly lost against
those 2 kids jinn and jenn?

GreenCastle responds:

Yeah, there are two other allies you can find. It's a little harder to unlock them but you'll find a way. Sounds like you're doing pretty well, keep it up.

Remember if you get more than 2 allies, you can go to GC's house to switch between them.

GREAT GAME

I beat this some time ago and wouldn't be reviewing it now except I saw you replied to that other guy and are wasting your time reading these things. Excellent game all around, the depth and variety of gameplay and the combat system are unparallelled on newgrounds as far as I have seen. But as the guy said, the endless battles get tiresome even to have to bother to run from once they are no longer useful experience and you just want to go between locations to check something out. There should be an "automatic run" option that works against weaker enemies once you are strong enough. Also, your philosophical conversation at the end is not terribly rigorous and you lost style points there though it did not detract from the whole game experience. (eh, and if I remember correctly the people who were talking at the end were not the same people I had in my party).

Pissed me off with the "oblivion's gate" machine--I wasted a ton of pawns upgrading my knights to beat that guy while blinded without spells before he cast oblivion's gate before I read that oblivion's gate is just a spell that you can be immune from. You should include a run-through on the magic system as a part of the game, or else an in-game link that explains it.

This game is a lot better than your most recent fighting game and I hope you make a sequel.

GreenCastle responds:

Thanks for giving your review. You're right I stopped replying to these for some time.

You made some pretty good suggestions. This was my first flash RPG and I realize there were a lot of things done wrong and a lot of things I could have done better. I'm glad you appreciated the effort though.

Yeah I admit I did not put that much effort into the ending. The people talking are the people in your party though, I'm pretty sure of that.

Elysium Man was a disappointment in my eyes and didn't deserve the award it won.

I actually am starting work on another RPG. GC won't be in it, but I intend to make it an improvement over this one. Look for it in a couple months.
