Familiarity Clarification

Very good song! I think these guys think it sounds familiar because it has such a wide range range of chords in each chord progression that a few common ones pop up. I think the most 2 common chords in this song appear often in other songs of this genre and a few other genres. Nice job I can't wait to hear your next songs!

Great Piece

Awesome job man, i also wanna touch up a little about what CloudSR and zomgamoocow said.

Sounds familiar, yes........but if you caught him on the thing it sounded familiar to to, would you hate him for it? Could you blame him? Music is music no matter if it sounds familiar.

i will tell you right now that it is actually a good thing to make something that sounds familiar to something else, because although it does sound familar, if he didn't make this piece, people who actually love it (like me) would miss out on it.

That's what bugs me about how people get so pissed off when a simple riff or melody gets used in another piece. Now i understand when people go overboard and completely clone the persons piece, but getting pissed off when someone uses a part of your music in theirs? They are just shedding light on an alternative sound to what you have made.

Anyway, enough of me rambling. Great piece, 5/5, 10/10, and a download from me good sir!

Now i'm not saying you hate it or blame him for it, i'm just saying that even if it is true

Shandu responds:

Actually, I think this originally started as a remix of something for some contest... but then it turned into this.

Heh.

I like this. It has a very elaborate, unique sound to it.

...Plus I'm a whore for techno, so you have that going for you! >.<

got kinda a 'clocks' feel

Not bad not bad.

I might be hearing wrong but i think ur bass is going in the same direction as the melody stuff. (If thats not true then just ignore me. Theres a chance im hearing it wrong) If thats the case then u might have parallel motion which is a no-no. that might be what that other person was saying about chord progression

thats fuckin ballin yo

zomgamoocow's right though...
SOMETHING feels like it got remixed in this..
that true?
other than that i love it

Shandu responds:

Probably, I tend to mix in random things that I have in my head. No idea where it would've come from tho :D
