Reviews for "Preludes of Mélancolique"

Beautiful.

This is a really beautiful piece. The phrasing is excellent and the overall tone is mysterious and elegant. The dissonance is choice chords gives it a very Gothic flavor. It's just visually rousing and to that effect the pure essence of good classical.

Emotive, and a great job!

I loved the chord progressions, and the melody shows some technical know-how that is refreshing in Audio Portal songs.

This is a great job.

Some of the harmonies don't quite mesh very well, that is the first knock I have against an otherwise good song. I won't point them out one by one, because if you listen, you'll know easily what I am talking about.
As well, the second knock is that this piece could use a few (emphasis on few) les block chords in some places and more arpeggiated stuff.

Nocturnes are often very lucid pieces, and very fluid. This one is a bit more 'in your face' at places, but that is by no means a bad thing. In fact it works more than it does not, and that is quite a feat.

Good job again!

Well thank you yeah im a big fan of disonance, as far a bass line chords i never thoughout about it i will have to try and see how it sounds

haha as for nocturne i still havn't decided if thats what i want to call this, because it wasn't intended to be one, but i needed a name and i just was like screw it its going to be a nocturne :P
ok well thanks for the sugesstions

I dig this.

I love the old school feeling i get from listening to this. I could almost imagin this being played in a anime while a fella speaks about something life or death. Unfortunatly i'm running out of time to review so i'll just say this! Wonderful work on this track!

thats what i was going for :) its supposed to be a dark romantic type song and i decided its going to be called Preludes of Melancolique Ch.1 theres more to it think :)

Pretty good

Pretty good song all around. Nice classical feel that resembles a sad situation such as perhaps a death, speech, ect.. Maybe something that could be incorporated into a flash submission after a city was destroyed and there is a scene where you are panning across to see the destruction, smoke, victims, etc..

I received some static when listening to this. Not sure if it was the speakers on the computer, but I wasn't picking it up from anything else so perhaps the audio quality could have been a little better? Other than that pretty decent classical feel all around.

yeah at the moment i am a realy bad recorder as far as recording goes im learning :) so its mostly just how the song itself is :) xKore did all my other songs i may have to ask him for help again

thanks for the review though

Sounds good

Although when a listened to it at a normal tone the piano kind of got really high pitched at some points but that's OK with me, it still sounds like a brilliant Renaissance age beat. It incorporates a piano only as well, sounds like it could have used maybe a small bass instrument for a little more rhythm and storyline to this beat.

Overall this feels like a very well built up beat to listen to as well, enjoyed it quite a bit, good job.

didn't really think renaissance at all seeing as the piano wasn't around untill the late 1700's and that is way after the renaissance. The piano is utilized in romantic music. All baroque, and most classical music was actually written for harpsichord.

also its meant to be a piano solo i may add saxophone for the top line because the 2nd part im writing right now is a saxophone solo with piano accomp. which i need for my portfolio ive thought about taking parts of it and making it for sax since the song is already hard to play even for accomplished pianists because theres so much happening at the same time, along with 11ths which can be difficult if you have small hands.

wow i rambled a bit but anyways thanks for the review and yeah i like the upbeatness its something different from what i normally do
