If this type of side scrolling games is worth the play, call me there. This could be very promising, and it looks like you’re off to a good start! You asked for my tips and here they are:
Make you character have the ability to crash with all of the NPCs, he seems to be omniscient at the moment.
Have damage done to your ship create explosions around your ship, its a little 'blah' when something shoot you and nothing happens.
Better music, more songs possibly?

yep the crash thing is a bug i'm trying to fix and as for the explosions- good suggestion.
