Great game

This is a wonderfull game, I've wanted to play....Ikargaldwkj (xD) for a long time now so I think I got a taste of it.

Wanna say that this game pisses me off to no end...seriously. I didn't die once in level 2 and got a 21000 score and I got a "C"...that just ended it for me. I'm sure the rest of the game is bad ass like the rest but you gotta do that rank system a little better. I'm a guy who likes to be rewarded for what he's done, that's just me.

Great game, can't wait to see your next. The game is kinda slow paced, just something to think about. Maybe you can make a remake of the original game and make a side scroller space ship. I would have liked if you used Mega-Man 8 sprite, but at least you didn't use X : D. One more thing, the first level music sounded like something from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack, I liked how you used Sparkman for the second level and I didn't listen to 3 long enough.

I've gotten some flak about the rank system, but for the moment it doesn't have anything to do with the score. Now that you know that, hopefully it will be easier to figure out what it pertains to.

I may have to work something in to let the score have some influence on the rank, but then there are the people who would cheat and spend limitless time in the lasers to rack up their score...

That first level music is from the other half of this crossover: Ikaruga, by the way.

That was a nice game, althought, i dont understand y the enemies were diferent colored.....

They're colored based on what polarity they are. If they are blue they fire blue shots and if they are red they fire red. They are more vulnerable to the opposite color they are, so you defeat them quicker if you use the opposite polarity they are compared to the same polarity. I hope that clears it up for you. :)

i agree with some of the posts about mm's slow walking, the slide feature or something to have him move fast would be a lot more fun... but about the a.i., im not too sure if you should play with that idea cuz then it would make it nearly impossible to get A's ... which means no cheat code... which means sad newgrounds browsers... and thats just no good

love the polarity...a lot of fun... great idea...

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got level 5 code!!!!! (i was playing while writing this) ... i finally beat the game!!! not too easy, but hard enough to keep you coming back and back...and back and back...and after beating it, get that euphoric feel after the accomplishment. 1life, 2 seconds left... i almost had a heartattack

i dont know if the level 4 cheat code is supposed to help or hurt me... when i got the code and read the description i got excited...but when i used it in-game...i was like HUH?!?!?! the whole time i was fighting bass i had to keep repeating myself (same to hurt, same to hurt, same to hurt, same to hurt) cuz i'd get confused... i thought the cheat would allow me to be protected from the same color attack and fire a different color... but it fires and protects me from the same color while the shield is just a different color...VERY CONFUSING!~

but otherwise...great freaging game~ make another one... NOW!!

ps. whats the best way to deal with the line of steamrollers (or whatever they are) when they come at you liek 5-6 in a row? i could maaaaaaaybe get to the 3rd if im lucky...the others i have to try and avoide and just get hit :I

The fourth level's cheat code is merely designed to mess with what you know. Kinda like a "mirror" mode in say... Mario Kart, if you will allow. You've gotten used to how the shield works by then, so using that code has you going opposite of what you already know. It was meant to add a little extra challenge to the game once you've beaten it.

And I'm glad you approve of the level 5 code. :)

I have no idea if i had already written a review..

But recently, or actually, today, i had discovered this game in my Favorites (uhm, okay..) so i went to check it out.

What I saw was an awesome game. ;)

Juuuust one little question. HOW DO you get rankings? I got for each level a D-, 'cept for the final one. (D+ @.@)

And, uhm.. okay, TWO questions- You said in an earlier reply there's 5 levels, thusly 5 codes, and i've noticed each code being listed...

ARE YOU SURE THOSE ARE ALL CODES? @.@;

That aside, i find that the yellow band trick for megaman should work on protoman as well. ;)

Well if you had written a review already I doubt it would have let you make another one...

Answers to your questions:
Starting with v1.1 and up, rankings were determined by a combination of score, health, and shot accuracy. So if you're shooting indiscriminately or just barely breathing at the end of a level, that could be why your rank is so low.

Five levels, five codes, all of which have been leaked by other players. If I release another game there will probably be more codes to uncover.

Glad you liked everything. I see my implantation of my movie into random peoples' favorites list worked... (just kidding!)

Great game!

this is the only megaman game on NG that is actually programmed correctly and is fun nice job, you should make a sequel!
