Reviews for "MMPolarity Reconstruction"

Great Game,Really Brings Me Back

This was a fun and strategic game,im having trouble on the second chapter though where you have to jump across and dodge the spikes on top,but i can figure that out eventually. The only gameplay issue is you should make it where if you are on the wrong polarity you cannot hurt the other color at all! that would make it really challenging!

Frankenroc responds:

That's a take on the Ikaruga part of the game. The only enemy who is completely invulerable to the same polarity is the boss when he has the same color shield.

In Ikaruga, and in here, the opposite polarity does double damage to an enemy, so there IS an advantage, even if it's not readily visible.

Don't listen to Cybercom

Listen, as a author myself I know that some people can be rather idiotic with their reviews. Many people think it is easy to do actionscript and just Flash MX in general. To those who think its easy, try it yourself.

Anyway, that aside, this is a pretty good game. Not my favorite but definetly worthy of front page. As for the beam system, I found it a tad odd at first though nonetheless innovated. Some of the jumps were hard to judge and I noticed you have to hold down the jump button to get full distance. Otherwise everything is great, though I couldn't get too far into it myself.

(I died trying to get a extra life, ironic, eh?)

Frankenroc responds:

Thanks for your support. I don't think there's really a nice way to say that.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. MM's jumping was based on how he jumped in the original MM games, so that's where that came from.

(And yeah, that's pretty funny.)

Very very good!

Love it! The polarity switch thing would be a great basis for another megaman game!

Frankenroc responds:

Haha, maybe. Thanks!

good job

Interesting mix of the polarity idea and megaman. I think this supplements the 3 animations you created quite well. The game was easier than megaman, but still a challenge. Giving us 3 lives was suicide. 10-20 would be more reasonable, but I prefer 1/0. Infinite lives are a decent substitute for continues and would require little additional programming (a guess).

Interesting that none of the reviews I read had a spoiler for the cheats, which I thought would be helpful. The game told me the first cheat somehow, but I couldn't remember it after I died. Of course, the one thing that always pisses me off with these online games is the starting over from the very beginning after losing all of one's lives. I can imagine few things more frustrating. Even using the right click play thing (knew about, but didn't think about using until after reading the reviews) got tedious very quickly. In the end, I lost all patience and decided to do something else. Good game, and good implementation despite my grievances.
It is also interesting that some of your replies to the reviews are similar to my own writing style/mentality.

Frankenroc responds:

I didn't realize how much a continue feature would have been necessary until I read some reviews. Once version 1.1 is approved, I hope you'll give it another chance. :)

Very nice!

What an awesome game, dude!!

Frankenroc responds:

Thanks, Mr. 300th reviewer!
