This the best game i have ever played! However, it would be good if you added a difficuty setting. I was stuck at mission 22 when there was more than 10 long-range ships. The mission was to blow them up before they reach the station, but... was it silly that the commanders would send one fighter against 10 or more?
Honestly... I love this game *grins*
What to say... an extensive array of weapons, 30 levels, nice music, smooth motion, several enemies, different mission types, ALLIES, and a near perfect training intro (gotta love the word overlay in the level)...
....and all of this brought to you in under 2.0 megs.
If this could be funny, and you added say a single boarding fight (hand to hand combat on a ship, yes i know the extra design that would take) it would probably be one of the best games I've played on Newgrounds.
Other suggestions
First and most important... please please give the option of level select when you've beaten the game, maybe even a difficulty toggle (increases enemy speed or HP)
Also, slow down the game end sequence, you worked hard on it, show it off a little :D
As for tips to other players... forget buying lives, high level lasers can save you SO much hassle. Their range can outdistance any ship when they're good enough so you wont even get hurt. They even will destroy shielded turrets because the shots dont reflect back enough to hurt you. Seriously I went through the whole game with just lasers and propulsion boosty things (except missiles on the level with reflecting shielded ships)
Other than that, focus on maneuverability ... some ships are just faster, but a good circling dogfight will keep you safe.
Last fun tip... when you get the bomb... save it for the end...
Nothing sweeter than boosting to the base, dropping the bomb then hiding til it blows. IF you like u can even risk watching *grins*
