good idea...but...

Combat could be faster...I like a hard game but I couldnt very far...the tutorial was too long :-\ More combat, not quite as impossible...you shouldnt have to have crappy allies and end up the only target.

DJStatika responds:

Put your allies on 'defend' and work with them to take out the enemies. Then they become far more useful!

Great game but not without its problems...

An absolutely superb game and one of the best I have seen on Newsgrounds in quite some time. It was fun to play and...rarely for a game on Newsgrounds...kept my attention for quite some time.

It does however, have some big big problems holding it back.

The first is the marker that tells you where the enemy is or your helper ships are. Damn that blink is annoying. It's hard to see and it puts you off your game. Blinking is best used in extremely rare situations when attention needs to be directed to something that is not normally being focused on. As the markers are pretty much in your face the blinking becomes overbearing. Make them steady, and if your worried about them getting in the way too much, then make them fainter.

Secondly, the controls have a big problem. You cannot keep the fire button pressed down and manouvre at the same time. This means that firing becomes a constant tapping affair which isn't really useful.

Finally battles and the AI are altogether far too close. The enemy AI seems to have something that borders on precognition but that's not really the problem, it's more the case that most of the time battles seem to involve actually hitting the ship as it appears on the screen so quickly, backing up and then starting the battle, usually not before the buggers dealt some serious damage to you. I think it's a case of making the game area larger and the ships slightly smaller so you have more room and space to manouvre.

Other than those small things it was really fun, and with some effort it could be a real viral hit. I don't know if you ever played Tyrian but that was one of my all time favourite games and this reminds me of it. If I could ever ask for anything it would be to see a game like this but multiplayer! :-)

Oh...nice nod to Asteroids at the start as well! :-)

DJStatika responds:

You cannot turn and fire because your keybopard only allows you to hold down 3 keys at once. To counter this i have put in an option called cruise control (in the options menu) This allows you to continue moving forward at the same speed without having to hold down the up key.

Ok

It was ok. The AI's were a little hard but my main problem was how hard it was to buy things. Lower the prices please. All in all it was a pretty good game.

this game was fucking gay

the damn AI is too fucking hard to kill they always back the fuck up out of your shitty lazers range

DJStatika responds:

oh no! its too hard for you? maybe i should just disable the enemies lasers altogether? and maybe keep the enemy ships still so that they are easier to shoot?

I hate you so much...

Hey! You would have to work on this game a full year just to make it suck! The game may have had good core elements, but the shield recharge was WAY to slow, you need to ad more money after each stage, their was no pause & in-game menu option, and worse of all THERE WAS NO SAVE OPTION!!!!!! I got 14 stages into the game, the door bell rang, and sence their was NO PAUSE OPTION, I had to go to the main menu!!!!!!!!! You should be draged outside and flogged Ben!

DJStatika responds:

I'm sorry you hated it soo much you only played up to level 14 (out of 30)

Why do people always seem to complain because they cant complete a game first go? dont people like a challenge anymore?
