Reviews for "Minor Swing (Arranged.)"

Great job!

Really loved the work on guitar (sometimes sounds like flamenco eh ;)) and the recording quality.
Did you play all the instruments?
Very good, a pleasure to listen to!
Fived ;)

joeymofo responds:

Thank you! I did play all instruments!

Wow!

Your arrangement makes it sound like Jeff Beal's original "Monk" theme.

Great job!

joeymofo responds:

haha! what a comparison. that is definately a new one! i can kinda see where you're coming from but hey, thanks for the review mate.

Very Very nice!!

This is great!! Although you probably have a fetish for guitar, like i do for Sax, i reckon a little bit of saxamaphone would sound great in this and also, around 1:50 i reckon an improvised drum fill would sound good. Hey these are my suggestions, its you arrangement.

joeymofo responds:

thank you for your review! i have never even thought about including a sax in a django tune but it is maybe worth trying haha. at the time of recording i was hoping to find someone to play fiddle but nothing came of that! great suggestion on the drum fill, but this song is old and done and dusted :) thanks!

The sound!

It sounds almost authentic to the original. Except this one has better quality :P This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I like your arrangement . But there are some things that still sound too much out of place for me to like them. But extremly great mixing. Snare sounds awesome. Bass and acoustic guitars , truly amazing. May I ask what kind of Mics you use ?
4.25 / 5.00 (+ 0.11)

Keep it up. And I'll promise you'll get a 10.

joeymofo responds:

For this recording I used a Rhode drumkit mic set that was available at York college for me, and then i recorded the bass and acoustic guitar at home using simply an SM57 and an SM58. It's the best quality recording i've ever got without using a condenser mic!

Awesome

You need to come down here in New Orleans and play :P
I loved this song a lot. Not a whole lot of originality I see since you didn't compose it but you pulled this off nicely. Arranged very nicely, well done.

joeymofo responds:

Aww i love it! Someone from New Orleans has heard my recordings that's amazing!!! Thanks for the review.
