Reviews for "LoZ - The Final Link"

Interesting...

Seeing gannon and leisuresuit-link fight was pretty cool I guess, but couldnt you find any music that involved LoZ in some way? Its not like there is a shortage of music from other zelda games. Its not like had to be from LoZ, but did you have to pick the sephiroth theme? You might as well had played "theme to the matrix."

I would have had some story about the new link too, i kinda took a guess at it, but it would have been nice to know what was actually going on.

LeviFolds responds:

go back to the movie, i have a story in it you can click on the first screen - the bottom right triforce piece is the story - i put it as an extra so people didnt HAVE to sit through it to get to the movie

Mixed Review...

First of all, I'll ignore the whole Zelda aspect of it and focus on the execution.

You did a wonderful job. This is one of the first decent flashes I've seen that make use of Flash's minor 3d capabilities. Kudos to you on that one.

Secondly, you did a good job making the action flow with the music. While it may seem relatively simple, there are a lot of people who have amazing difficulties getting sounds and video to flow together nicely.

And thirdly, the use of a storm here was well done. Firstly, in high-action scenes, it removed the need to animate every second. It's a cheap trick, but it looks damn good for a cheap trick, so it's on the good side.

Overall technical execution: A

However, my review starts to get a little mixed around here, mostly due to some things I saw which I didn't agree with. For the storyline, you seem to have combined the original LoZ and OoT, which makes not only for a very inaccurate combination to the Zelda storyline, but reduces your credibility in adding your own chapter to it... but I have seen much, much worse, so no worries on that one.

Also, the use of final fantasy music in this film may have been effective because of the flow of One Winged Angel, but when I'm seeing a trenchcoated Gannondorf and Link with black hair in a business suit duking it out with swords, I don't think hearing "ESTUANS INTERIUS, IRA VEHEMENTI, SEPHIROTH!!" quite fits the scheme, although the tune itself minus the obvious tied to FF7 fit.

Continuity: C+

Which nets you a 4 vote and an 8 rating. Not bad, since I'm usually an ass when it comes to voting.

LeviFolds responds:

ill take that as an overall compliment and im pleased to see you didnt address any of the issues i already explained a million and a half times to these ass clowns who dont kno as much as you but think they do - kudos on an excellent review - i will strongly consider these things if i ever make a modern loz movie again

Astounding graphics!

The graphics, and the way this battle is depicted is truly a work of art. Also the music selection works very well with whats happening. Just one question though, did Link really ever ware a white tuxido with brass buttons into battle?

LeviFolds responds:

he does now, lol

Nice!

That was a cool flash, but I didn't understand the man in the suit thing...

LeviFolds responds:

yeah, i sorta explained that in the story...you didn't read it, did you?

good

it was pretty good, and ur graphics were awesome. i read ur comments thing, so i understood the story better. the two things that bothered me was that link ran like a sissy, especially the first time he ran. and ur not supposed to wear white out in the rain or cold water because it will become see-through. but a pretty good flash.

LeviFolds responds:

technically, lnk has worn white in rain before . consider the master quest in the orignal zelda . he wore a white tunic . and yes, link dd run like a fairy . i apologize, my animation skills are lacking in the 'cool running' department . im working on that
