There is one thing I don't get. I thought that they said "Tuesday's coming, did you bring your coat?" and the other replys "I live in a giant bucket". Meh, you prolly just used audio from a different version. =P

I would call this flash a tribute rather than a spoof but it wasn't terrible. It's just too bad my spoon is too big.

It's better than some crap I've seen on the portal, but still wasn't worth my time.
Parody or not...
It made me laugh. I am not going to bust you over things like music, sound, or anything like that. The short was going for humor, and reached it. Congrats.

NOT a spoof, but a remake-and not a very good one
Technically, this is not a spoof. A spoof makes fun of the orginal. What you did was a remake. And like most remakes, if you're not going to make as good or better than the orginal, I hardly see the point.
Don Hertzfeldt is a friggin genius. So it's not very likely that anyone is going to be able to do exactly what he did and still have it be funny. For what it was, the animation was actually intergrated rather well, but the complete lack of orginality outweighs it. It's ok if you use his films for inspiration, hell, even rip off his style- but try to make your films YOURS.
