Reviews for "8-Bitch5: EvilOnTheAttack"

OH MY GOD

This is the funniest flash ever created. I love you.

XD

KICKAZZ!!!! WAS SOO FUCKING COOL!!! I WAS LMFAO!!! IT LOOKED LIKE A BAD DAY ON FF11.

Go REDMAGE!

I think a few of us are missing the point...

I can safely say that this was an excellent submission to Newgrounds. However, it has been brought to my attention that no one truly understood the whole point of this movie. I've read things like "OMG teh soudn quality wuz terrible" and "Ur movie has no point" all within the first three pages of the latest reviews.

The purpose of the movie was clearly stated in the description of the movie. It is fairly obvious(If you have half of a brain) that this was making fun of 8 Bit Theater ripoffs. 8 Bit Theater was and still is very popular. It's no wonder people would do anything within their power to gain some of the glory of 8 Bit by submitting their own homages to obtain a sort of status in this world we call cyberspace.

Now if you pay attention to any of the Disaster Labs submissions, you can recall back to Arfenhouse 2 where the concept of blatant 8 Bit ripoffs was expressed. This submission was clearly making fun of those who steal material from 8 Bit and put it in their own movies or webcomics. The most obvious character we can express here is TLF. TLF has made a name for himself(or herself) on Newgrounds for his(or her) homages to 8 Bit in SWF form.

There was also a submission called "8 Bit D&D" which combined the Dead Ale Wives Dungeons and Dragons skit with 8 Bit theater. This was an incredibly popular movie for a long time. It had been on the top 50 entries for a few months. Although I must say that 8 Bit Theater had a few jokes that were from the Dead Ale Wives skit too.

Now to review. The graphics were simply amazing. There was some serious artistic talent with this movie. I noticed that the characters seemed to be a little more blocky in appearance. This added to the "8 bit" feel. Vibrant colors were utilized and animation was excellent overall.

The sound in some areas was of low quality (i.e. Black Mage on purpose for obvious reasons. Refer back to Arfenhouse 2). The Misteroo version of Red Mage(dressed as Carmen Sandiego) was a tad lacking in quality. This could be due to a bad microphone or hell... maybe that was on purpose too.

This movie was very humorous. However, I don't think most people understood why I think this was funny. If you read most of the reviews here, no one actually seems to understand the meaning of this movie. Things were very random but they made a lot of sense in a DL kind of way.

All in all, I feel this is an excellent submission. I say keep up the good work, and never lose the humor that you folks at Disaster Labs hold. I look forward to Arfenhouse 3(Although that's been pushed back a few times. But then again, you can't rush quality things). I am excited to see more stuff out of you guys.

Awesome.

Disaster Labs, with special emphasis Misteroo, is Newgrounds' equivilant of Mark Twain; no bullshit. This movie is spectacular. It's balanced so brilliantly; it's simultaneously an excellent peice of Flash work, a great satire, and, on a whole other level, a tribute to 8-bit Theater in a way that none of the other Flashes have come close to achieving; it accents Brian Clevenger's touches by flipping them upside down and kicking them in the groin, rather than making a piss-poor attempt to emulate him directly.
You have my five, good sir.

How did this not end up #1 on newgrounds

inexplicable acts of random violence .... cant get any better than that.
Misteroo Rules! Whens arfenhouse three comin arround ;)
