Reviews for "Wishing Star"

I love this.

"it's a ... sloop" - For a small wooden ship, it gets the job done as far as floating goes. If it could sail into the wind, you'd have it spot on, maybe it can I dunno.

The melodic aspect of it, (btw I laughed at the key change, wasn't expecting it, nice timing) makes for a great friendly, kids and christmas feeling. Some of the sounds don't, particularly the drums giving it some different energy. I would friggen love to hear this with an orchestra, and plays at a slower tempo, it would make for a good movie theme. Tell you what, I'll make a movie* if you remake this using an orchestra. and use your voice for the harmonising and chords or whatever you want.

*Movie may be in the form of interpretive dance and go for under a minute.

VGSongbird responds:

lolz. I know, right? I had no idea "Sloop" was an actual word, and now I just feel ridiculous!

And I love your reviews, btw. They're thought out and make me giggle most of the time ^_^ Thanks for all your support. I love it!

Listening as i write

Hmm,i like this song yet im going to say its trance. I would concider this more of drum n bass song. But doesnt matter for now. I like the sound quality on this one, infact i liked everything else except the drum n bass stuff. Why? I think you could replace them with something else, cause in my opinion it just sorta ruins the wonderful dreamy melody in this song. Overall, good song, some things didnt quite enter my ear, doesnt mean they are bad. Keep up the good work
PS: Regarding youre other submission, dont have to say thanks for the nine or something, just my honest opinion..And-insolent self advertisement- check out my song Reanimation, its long..but its very worth listening to

VGSongbird responds:

Lolz
I always say Thank You for...whatever.
Cause I really am thankful! ^_^

And I'm grateful for the honesty of your review. Constructive Criticism is priceless.

Sloop?

I wouldn't call this a sloop, or trance, for that matter. It's pretty calming, and I'd say it's closer to ambient than to trance (though it isn't quite ambient, either).

It reminds me of the area behind the Crystal Palace in Paper Mario; it gives the impression of everything there (a clear night sky, falling snow, and the aurora).

VGSongbird responds:

Lolz; I guess you're right. It really isn't a ship is it?

Pretty Cool

Good dynamic flow, cool beat, nice breaks . . . I really liked the beginning . . . I think this song works as it is, but I could see a classical version of this sounding amazing. I think if you were to have it all on piano (no rhythm), slower, and with some cool piano runs to make it connect, it would be ballin'. There is a lot of potential for the melody, and I think you could do a lot of different things with it.

You should really write more original songs, you're pretty clever with how you put together songs. I'd be interested what you think of some of my latest songs I put out here, if you get a chance.

This song is enhancing my delta brain waves, LOL. I'm getting kinda drowsy and euphoric.

VGSongbird responds:

Well don't get TOO high on this song ;)

Yeah, I originally had this as just pure, slow piano. But I couldn't for the life of me complete it! I had this loop stuck in my head so long, I just wanted to put it down on a track, and it kind of evolved into this. I may just revisit it; it seems to be getting a lot more attention than I thought it would.

Thanks for your 8 and for your review ^_^

Snowing ^_^

Because of the beat, it makes me think of flying/gliding over snow-covered mountains with gently falling snow on a starry night. It makes me feel all squiggly inside. ^_^

VGSongbird responds:

Squiggly?
^_^
That's silly.
But I'm thrilled to hear I envoked emotional and physical response in you.
Thank you for listening.
