Reviews for "Number of the Beast"

Your hired

Excellent voice acting. Next sample should be singing Dark Etneral Night by Dream Theater.
No one dared to
Speak of the terrible danger
The hideous ancient warnings
Forged in the void of night

He has risen up
Out of the blackness
Chaos
The last of the prophets
Sinister
A sickening monstrous sight

Through the stifling heat
Underneath the pale green moon

I burned with a thirst
To seek things not yet seen

Climbing endless stairs
Leading to the choking room

Eager to explore
His most shocking mysteries

Drifting beyond all time
Out of a churning sky
Drawn to the beckoning light
Of the dark eternal night

Black forces
Rage in the vortex,
Fighting
Waves of destruction
Swallowing
The echo of the universe

I am the last
Born of the blood of the pharaohs
The ultimate god of a rotting creation
Sent to unleash this curse

Restless crowds draw near
Nameless hooded forms appear

Amidst fallen ruins
Grotesque creatures battle

Shadowed on a screen
Yellow evil faces leer

Vacant monuments
Corpses of dead worlds left behind

Drifting beyond all time
Out of a churning sky
Drawn to the beckoning light
Of the dark eternal night

Trapped in a hellish dream
Spinning past worlds unseen
And frightfully vanishing
Into the dark eternal night

Drifting beyond all time
Out of a churning sky
Drawn to the beckoning light
Of the dark eternal night

Trapped in a hellish dream
Spinning past worlds unseen
And frightfully vanishing
Into the dark eternal night

You will start on Monday, I can't pay you in cash because this isn't a legitimate business but you will be paid generously in gay sex flavors by my sex slaves. Your work will consist of reading epics and poetry to me until I get a huge boner and are well satisfied.

Coop responds:

So what sort of perks can you offer me? Good working hours? Star on my dressing room door? Vast quantities of Strawberry Milkshake?

I shall consider the terms, please speak to my agent in the meantime.

Not bad.

Blah blah, let's get this part out of the way even though you obviously know. It was really quiet. Even when I turn my speakers up all of the way I have a hard time hearing it. Probably because I have a bad hearing problem and I'm almost deaf in both of my ears, whatever though. I finally got it loud enough by hooking it up to some other speakers. Pretty good voice acting voice in my opinion. I can't really see too much wrong with it at all. It was clear and crisp (when I got it loud enough to hear) Perhaps add the words in your author comments or something so people that are having problems hearing can make more sense of it if they can read along.

Coop responds:

Edited the comments, as per your suggestion - thanks for the input :)

whoa to me

I had to turn my volume way way up just to hear everything. Yes I know you mentioned it was low, but that is way too low.
Trying to sound like Vincent Price now that not an easy task, I not heard a lot of people attempt that. He has a really distinct voice. You may been better off at trying for a more low tone demonic sounding type voice. Get better software :)

Coop responds:

Thanks for that, ramagi. I'm working on the better software as soon as I'm back from the London meetup.

Other than that, there will be other submissions coming your way throughout 2009, so stay listening :)

Nice first audio!

You have a enjoyable dramatic voice, and you really managed to get the feeling of the original speech. But as Haggard said, the ending wasn't as good as the beginning. I would advise you to tell the lasts sentences a bit faster, as Haggard said and also to speak with more "dynamics".

That my technical advises. Now about the sound, I don't know what you are using for your records, but if your software allow you to do it, add some reverb to make it sound closer as the original. Aslo if you have an Equalisation plug in, add some bass and a bit more of high frequences. And as a last advise, increase the master volume ;).

Well done for a first try. I voted 5 on it.

Coop responds:

*Advice - you asked me to keep you on your toes with English :P

My recording software is very basic - it's just Microsoft Sound Recorder, which allows absolutely no editing in the way of Equalisation or special effects of any description.

Still, I think that with this voice I might have to go and find something a little more to get me some decent audio output.

Practice will make up for the lack of feeling with the ending of the piece. I might try a few tricks to get another edit up and running before we're finished with this piece.

Almost perfect.

Needs a bit more at the end, otherwise you pulled this off really well. And i never knew you liked Maiden, that's cool.

Coop responds:

You never knew I liked Maiden?! Have you never listened to a damned word I said?!

Also, I'll be trying to submit other things of this ilk, but what do you mean, it could have done with something else at the end?
