Reviews for "THE BOX 3"

great little game idea

great concept

Add a different background other than white

And have some music playing. Those would probably make this a 4 or 5 ratable game. Also, think up some more powerups, make it possible to advance through different levels, maybe two red boxes at certain points, (shitty boxes who dont chase you who eventually lead up to boss boxes who hunt?)

heh, if you could add a goofy story as to what the box is seeking or something, this could become a cult classic.

299 Points

This game is hard at the beginning! It took 9 tries before I could pass the first part. Great game! More power-ups next time. Like:

- Invisiblilty
- Bullets (So you can shoot the box backwards) (MAX. 5 ammo)
- Health Bar (So you can see any boss's health)
- Bosses (So you can fight bosses, along with avoiding the box)
- Invincibility (So you cannot be hurt for 5 seconds)
- Bigger->You= (So YOU can become bigger)

VENGEANCE-GGG responds:

Why would you want to be bigger? that would make it easier for the dude to catch you. And a health bar would mean you could walk straight through the box with only minor damage. If you were invisible, what would I make the enemy do? Just stand there? Go in a random direction?

Bosses? What would be different about them? And how would you beat them? I guess you could use bullets, but it would kinda spoil the simplicity of the game.

Origanal and fun. (..for a while..)

Loving the fact of how origanal it seems, though *something* must have inspired you to create it..
the basic principle is there, just needs a few more features in it to keep gameplay fun for several hours, instead of several minutes. The controls are basic and not an amazing ammount of skill is really inputable into this game. Could have a job for the mouse, or a few extra keys maybe? The graphics were vivid, the powerups looked ok, but the majority of it was bland and uncreative. Always room for imporvement in that catagory.BGM would be nice (Background music), but nothing too short and repetetive or else it could become tedious. Options for customising sounds could be an idea too. This game has a LOT of potential, it's just a case of finding those additives which will help achieve something great, and there is greatness in it. *But blatant bug when kill mine is hit!*
My suggestions:
- upping it to the 3rd dimension
- BGM
- sound options (which soundtrack to play/not play. mute. etc.)
- more colorful gameplay [out of space below...]

VENGEANCE-GGG responds:

Well, some guy on the SFDT.com forums was asking how to make a follow script. I adapted a 'click and follow' script to work continuously, and when I was testing it, I added keyboard controls to one of the boxes to check if the enemy could chase a moving target. It worked, and the idea for THE BOX was born.

It would be possible to, say, add a little turret onto your box, with which you could fire 'shrink beams' at the enemy, using the mouse.

Of course the graphics could be improved, but I've never been much of an artist. I've only just figured out how to add music that doesn't lag the game down, and it's still pretty hard to find decent sound loops.

Kill mine bug? I don't think I ever played the kill mine mode much... I might look into it, but I'd only actually fix it if I were going to completely redo the game.

3D is a VERY advanced area of Flash, but I've always been interested in it. I might look into it sometime.

Sound options would be easy enough to put in, but again, I'm only likely to add this stuff if I redo the game entirely.

Needs work

This game was ok, notbad at all, could use some work like some backrounds music in the backround, and more interactive options to give it more entertainment value, it was fun
