Reviews for "Road to Serfdom"

well...

it's always interesting to read about the happenings in germany in 1933, well at least even for us germans!
if we could change we would!
but we were forced to and most people were scared of the SS, SA and hitler! actually only 20% of the germans were nazis!
k it's over we're happy ^^
but unfortunately we got a new wave of neo nazis!

hilter and his morals were a big piece of crap
too many followed without thinking about what they're doing
i guess that's the main problem that many countries had
nowadays too!

think about it!

nice idea! :)

Great piece, I just wish it came out before the

election and not after. I fear we are going to have an american road to serfdom now.

Anenome responds:

While the Republicans have their faults, at least they espouse the principles of, and give lip-service to the ideas of freedom, and are pressured by their constituency to follow through on it. They are forced to compromise into less-free ideas by the Democrats, the liberals who are the current proponents of central control. These mensheviks believe in Keynesian economics, which rationalizes the central control they advocate (though it has been discredited by stagflation). Just look at Kerry's own campaign slogans, seems like all I ever heard him say was, "I have a plan..." His plan means less freedom for you and me. He has consistently been against market solutions and for governments solutions. The difference is that the free market cannot force you and I to deal with them, the government can.
I call for a separation between government and economics.

I will suggest to you the libertarian economic ideas of Von Mises and Murray Rothbard for more information.

Always nice...

to see inanimate objects kill kids

Anenome responds:

I have no idea what you're talking about. This flash has nothing to do with the deaths of children in any way. Seems like your comment is but a lame attempt to keep people from viewing this flash. Not very original though.

Pretty interesting

I think it's always a good idea to make things that have such a powerful message. Probably my only problem with this was that it didn't have much going on. I think the strongest point was the music, which really made it seem dramatic. What was also cool was how you really went out of your way to go into detail. I can see something like this doing well on a school project. It might have worked better if you adaptated it into a book.

You could have also let the viewer control when the next "page" was coming up. I have seen too many things to count about how dictators come in power. It's really something we should be familiar with. I think the main problem is that it will simply be impossible to create a Utopia, at least one in a very powerful country. There will always be conflicts.

Good

I'm leaving it at that.
