Reviews for "Hero's Bottle"

Jesus christ.

Fuckin' Brootal.

Insane shit :D

Thanks again for the review :]

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks to you as well. ANd N/P!

Damn....

Powerballad... In a good way. Not in the Phil Collins kinda way. lol
The ending was a cool idea. Reminded me of what Bob Dylan said in his autobiography(not literally, just the meaning hehe): 'the most interesting part of a piece of music are the parts that you expect, but don't hear.'
There's a whole lot of truth in that.
The lyrics and melodies were pure awesomeness. Very catchy. Cool.
Fuck it, I'm going to get right to the point, no sense in mentioning all the good things, there's too many lol
OK:
The drummeroonies:
Turn them down a notch, they're too mighty. The snare rips everything apart in my opinion.
At the beginning verse: the closed fast highhat hits are not... grooving. Half the pace, open highhat would make it ultra groove and give the riff a new bad ass meaning. (same goes for the 'same' part starting at 1:13)
You are totally right, those symbol chokes really don't cut it, they really don't fit there. How about you just leave the symbols out at that part and make a tom groove, that would make a great transition for the next part. Or combine that tom groove with a crash on the 1, following the guitar stroke.
Hm, some fills are missing, too. Hm...
Vocals also need to be louder, they are too sweet to be this quiet!
Loved the string reverbish part. really takes the song to another level.
The drums could go 'apeshit' after that, this is a part where there's no vocals, so you have a lot more room to experiment with drum fills etc.
Just some ideas...
Awesome man.!
METAL!!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

My friend, thank you for the kick ass review. Totally helped me out. Though I didn't do everything yet. I have changed the drums levels, snare sample is different, cymbal chokes are gone. There is still another version coming so anything else you can think of would kick ass.

Thanks man, awesome fucking review.\m/

Hero's Bottle

Holy Shit.

Nice job on everything here. The structure of the song is incredible. Vocals are KICK ASS. Guitar is insane! I liked the breakdown in the bridge you had going, especially the melodic instrument you have accompanying the guitar; nice touch. The lyrics, oh the lyrics. Full of feeling and they match Crucified's voice perfectly.

Now time for nitpicking.

There are parts of the song (vocals, guitars, structure, writing, and some of the drums) that are awesome and professional quality. My biggest complaint is the drums. They sound "thin." It might be the song in general in combination with the drums. I just feel like there's one instrument missing. I couldn't really pick out a bass guitar in there and, for me, that may fill the void. If it was there, bring it out in the mix a bit. You can get that bass to drive the song even more (not that it really needs it hah).

For the drums, the cymbal that is used with the buildup into the chorus sounds off. It started at like 0:35 I think. I dunno, it just felt a tad off. Maybe a tad (very small) reverb would do it good, I dunno. It could just be me nitpicking. My last issue is the ending. It sort of just ended; I wasn't expecting that. I feel like you could put an intro of maybe some echo on the abrupt ending to ease it out.

Other than those few issues, the song is incredible. But hey, who needs a review that goes "Woots you are is awesomes!"

Sick song, great collab, great music. Nice job, fav'd, 5'd.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks man. I hear ya. The drums were revamped 3 or 4 times. And I'm still thinking of revamping them some more. I've added my own samples in this, but that damn cymbal choke on the prechorus build up has been eating at me too.
Its "too big" if I have a full crash there, and too small if there is nothing there. And then doesn't work at all, for a build up.

There is a bass in here. I thought it was too loud, actually...cause to me it really sticks out. I can turn that up to.

Crucified wants to revamp his vocals even more, so I may take it down in a day or two, just to get some more critiques.

Sadly for YOU, the ending stays. haha. Its got the exact impact that I wanted, in relation to what the song is about. haha. But I know what you mean.

Thanks for the review, and if you can think of anything else, please let me know. :D

wow dude

This sounds professional as fuck. You mixed the instruments, I assume? If so, that is seriously great. I didn't think you could get anything that hasn't been mastered to even come close to the sound.

Drums were great, hi hat sounded really crisp. My only complaint here would be that the toms sounded a little flat, but it's not too noticeable. Ride sounds great, is that EZdrummer?

WOW! 2:29, that melody....what the fuck! What instrument/vst is that? The solo after was really emotional. I love it.

Guitar tone is nice, definitely an improvement. I'm not bs'ing you either, this stuff is some of best quality shit I've heard around here.

downloaded. fav'd. fucking everything'd lol.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks very much, man.
The toms are the standard for ezdrummer. The kick and some other samples were changed.
I did add some reverb to the drums in another version. The toms and such sounded great, but the cymbals and crashes "wavered" and sounded shitty. I may have to separate them into two tracks and eq each individually. WHich I probably will do.

For the part at 2:29, there were strings in the background, but the 'reverse ish" type sound was coming off my guitar. It was a reverb setting on my pod, that I messed around with and have been dying to use. haha.

Anyways, thanks for an awesome review, man. This getting revamplefied again too. :D Sometime next week, a version should be up with most issues fixed. \m/
