Reviews for "Things that go slash"

nice ideas...too dark

That was a decent film. But a little dark so it was kinda hard to tell who what and where....sugestive though and it let my imagination run. Decent idea..just needed some more work in the animation.

Boojamon responds:

Well, I only just started it this
morning, so I thought it might be
nice to have a film for halloween!
Turned out I had it done in three
hours or so. A day or two more and it
would have had more content... and
probably wouldn't have been so dark.

Thanks for the review!

well

quite boring and confusing i closed it before it finished
i waited a long time for something significant to happen and npthing did
im sure it was a good animation so i voted 2 for a protection points

Boojamon responds:

Er... then maybe you should have waited... duh, but thanks for the protection points, anyway.

the animatoins were good but

other then that there is nothing really happening make it longer with more stuff happening

Boojamon responds:

oh...k

What?

I'm sorry, nice drawings, but first of all:

preview your submission on a decent monitor. The whole thing is way too dark and I had to turn my monitor's brightness way up to even see it. Don't worry, it's a mistake we all make though.

Second,

it starts off very promising, but then it ends very abrubtly. It made me ask myself, what is the point of this movie?

All style but no content.

Boojamon responds:

I'm sure you appreciate why it took so long to me to respond. There is nothing to retaliate to... mainly becasue you have been so nice about negative comments. At least the movie made you ask something of yourself... that is an aspect that all film makers attempt to get... but you probably meant that in a negative sense so.... oh well.

The moniter I do have is perfectly fine, thank you... all though my vision isn't all that good...hehe... Maybe I need some new eyes.

Well, got to go, I've heard they do organs on ebay...

A different flash

It was a very dark flash, that I will say, but I didn't really get the idea of it. One particular part of the flash I noticed was the dark lighting at the tombstone. One tip for such movies: If you're going to make something be read, then make it bright. However, if you don't want it to be read, keep it dark and brief so there is not enough time for the viewer to read it.

The next part I saw was the hill, tree and cloud and the small shadow, which was very effective in my opinion. You used very good shading and animation techniques for a dark setting. However, as the flash progressed, I saw the yellow window and other scenes, which proved to be very confusing to me. I am not sure what the purpose of this flash is, but it was very difficult for me to grasp. Maybe I'm dumb, but this is what I saw.

Anyway, best of luck with future work.

Boojamon responds:

Thank you. Your input is much appreciated. If I didn't get comments, I wouldn't be able to improve!

I have since learnt that this flash is much too dark, and I think my monitor may have been on a lighter setting to every other computer in the world. ( ^-^ )

Such is life.

The general storyline for this is that a murder takes place by a dark and shady figure, and though the flash WAS meant to be dark to conceal identity- I may have leant too far in that direction.

Many thanks,
Boojamon
