Reviews for "Ripping and using sprites"

Meh

I have an easier way, GO to download . com get irfanview turn off all layers till you get what you want in Zsnes, take a screenshot with irfanview, copy the sprite, paste it into paint, Get it the right size, paste it into Flash, Click it, Modify Bitmap 1,1,pixels,normal and you have a sprite. I have a way for visual boy advance too, Same wih just about everything. Visual boy advance is harder though. If you get the setting right you can even get the colors and sprite EXACTLy how they look in real life. I usually put on motion blur and gameboy colors for Visual boy advance.

Rathanos responds:

I'm not saying that it's THE way. I'm saying it's A way.

Thanks for the review anyway.

Sprites??

Sorry.. This was a pretty well-made tutorial overall, so I gave you some interactivity points.. but... sprites? No, the last thing we need is more people submitting pointless sprite animations. Granted, not all are bad, but practically all of them are. I really don't think these people need to be encouraged and helped to make more sprite movies..

Rathanos responds:

Take a peek at the Flash forum and you might be surprised at the ammount of people asking about animating sprites. I figured a tutorial would appease 2 or 3 newbies.

Thanks for the review anyway.

that was preety good

nice job. that was well explained, so well done! shame about the linkin park music tho! :D but i could turn it off so that was good too hehe.

Rathanos responds:

Well... I like Linkin' Park :P

Thanks for the review.

Best tutorial I've seen.

A well presented and in depth tutorial. It tells you everything you need to know clearly and precisely.

The Jukebox was a nice touch, I kept the flash open after reading the tut just to listen to the music. ^_^

Nice work. I hope to see more.

Rathanos responds:

Ha ^^ Glad you liked it. Yeah, I figured a tutorial without music would be bland.

Thanks for the review.

Not a tutorial to blam!

This is great, everyone is so used to seeing tutorials for rollovers, custom cursors, or whatever on NG. Problem is that this doesnt help control the crap that comes in. At least with a tutorial for sprites now, it may not be a huge difference, but we may see less crap going through with horrible cutouts and animation. Maybe not, i dunno, but it should help. Good job, keep up the good work.

We can hope, can't we? We'll find out.
