nice

great song

Excellent

I very much liked this song. Though, as pointed out before, very monotonic. The guitar solo was A++ though. Add a little Wah and it would be perfect. And some rock music in the portal is always a positive and unexpected.

FoX66 responds:

Not to deliberately give us an alibi, but we only had a little less than a week to prepare for a recording and major changes to the song occurred. We pride our guitarist on his skill as will.
When we were at a college recording studio last year, he improvised on the solo with out doing a separate track. (Most bands do two tracks -one for the solo and the other for actual song- and multiple takes) Five other people were there besides the band and none had their jaws closed.
It is disappointing how few rock songs are at Newgrounds. My respect to the people who are awesome with mixing and a synthesizer though.

You rock, indeed! :D

That's good rock! I like it, especially the guitar.... and obviously, the guitar solo seems to be, as usual, the main note of originality in a rock song. Your song has a lot of personality. Good job!

FoX66 responds:

That is true -the guitar solo being the key note of originality- but we try and make that not the only thing that differentiates us from one band to the other. We make all our songs sound different in one way or the other. Saying Clockwork has a lot of personalty really strokes our ego.

Overall good, but not excellent

I hope that you will not hate me for saying this :)
The music was very monotonic (same thing over and over and over)
Voice didn't blend with the music too well, and sometimes was a little off.
I think you should try to experiment without the hard stuff first, like guitar and piano only, and when you mastered that, move on to drums and etc to add to the beat :)
But still, not bad.

FoX66 responds:

The response will be in your PM Inbox, since it is -putting it lightly- quite lengthy...
