Haha, we use a 30$ sony mic wrapped in 2 bandanas on a piece of metal turned into a makeshift mic stand, under a staircase, in a basement, usin a windows 98 studio w/ magix...so if the only thing you didnt like is the quality hell im happy with that.
Im actually gettin a pop filter before monday so, hopefully that will help.
