Reviews for "Instrumental #4 (Karco Remix)"

Great remix!

I love this remix! I started with listening to the original and, while it will always remain the best in my opinion, you did a very good job. The only criticism I have is that it took far to long to be able to hear the original melody. Once you could hear it the song really felt complete but, when I think of a remix, I expect that it is based on the original song. You got there eventually but everything before that made me wonder if I'd clicked on the wrong link.

That's trance for you. :) A long intro, and the melody typically doesn't come in (in a full-length track) until at least two minutes in. I'm vaguely considering making a radio edit of this track but I hardly have time. :\

Thanks for the review!

''Estimable'' I must pronounce

That was just an astounding song. The sounds that I heard on this song was beautiful and stress relieving. 10/10

Thanks! :)

Luminous Trance Track

When I saw that you finally uploaded this track, that was very (and well) advertized, I decided to listen & review it.

First of all, I have to say that I like, a lot, this track.

The bass fits always perfect with the track style. I like the start of the song, and how the melody slowly comes into it. The final part (from 6:52 to 7:55) is brilliant, you can 'feel the magic' of trance when the bass is alone with 2 notes, and suddenly, the bass dissapears at 7:19, to appear again just 2 seconds later with the same energy.

The main melody is good. Is difficult to define it. Probably Lamplighter was right, and the best description is in the title. 'The light'. There's a lot of light in the piano melody, and in the global sound that emerges from the track.

Personally, I miss some more darkness in the middle of the song (that's the reason why I gave you a 9 and not a 10)

What I mean by darkness is, again difficult to explian with words, but I'll try:

This song has, like a Mike Foyle's touch. Althogh the melody is very different, it reminds me the style of 'Mike Foyle - Shipwrecked (Mike's Broken Shore Mix)'. Both songs are very luminous (probably the piano gives that effect to the hole track).

What I mean by darkness can be understood, if you listen to the Sean Tyas' Remix of Shipwrecked. The Darkness of that track comes from the bass and from a 'darker' melody, that has like a kind of fight with the luminous piano melody. That happens not only in that song, there are many examples of that in other remixes of Sean Tyas and other deejays.

I miss something like that in your song. I know that is very difficult to do that, and that not everyone likes that darkness in a trance track, so this is not a critique. It's only an idea for the future if you, or someone decides to do a remix of your song

Summarizing: Great track, with a luminous flowing piano melody.

Hello Airprogressive, looks like you're giving me a real review this time. :)

I was worried about the bass, not only is it extremely simple, but it's an almost raw Nexus preset - from the Factory presets "Bass" section. D: Looks like it did the job pretty well, for you, and for many others.

Mike Foyle - Shipwrecked, and its remixes, are some of my all-time favorite Trance tracks, so it's interesting for me to see someone compare them to my track here. I hear that melody you're talking about there - thing is, I don't like to just copy an idea from another track onto mine. That may just have been the synth I was missing though, so I'll look into it and maybe I can make a reupload if it turns out good enough. :O

Thanks for the nice review and ratings Airprogressive! Glad you liked it.

WOW!

I bow down to your greatness for doing such a great song.

Karco responds:

Sounds like you liked it, thanks for the review. :O

Stunning...

Anyone who raters this below a four has a grudge against you, or hasn't listened to the full song. I mean, this is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, remixes on this site.

I thought the beginning sounded pretty good, just what I should expect. Then :54 rolled around and a smile came to my face. I'm serious, I actually smiled. This is what I've been waiting three and a half months for. I listened throught the rest of the song, without pausing for a second. Then I played it again. This melody never gets old. Big cheers to Reasoner, but this remix is every bit as good. I loved eevry bit of it. The drums sounded great, the bass was clean and not overpowering, and the two-note synth you had playing every bar to go along with the melody never became tiring. I even heard some dynamics in here, which I normally don't pay attention to in trance music.

I agree with Reasoner, this remix gives a stronger feeling of dreamy, airy, bliss especially with the counter melody. I can see why you titled it "Karco's See the Light Remix," because this brings beautiful images to my mind. I just want to sit and listen to this all night with my eyes closed... Wow. I'm still stunned at this.

Fantastic work, Karco, and now I know how talented you are as of now. I'm thrilled that I checked your profile today, and that I was among the first to hear this amazing remix. I can't wait to hear more from you!

Karco responds:

Thanks for the kind words Lamplighter! Not too much to respond to here, though those dynamics you heard may have been a sometimes subtle lowpass filter I put on the piano. :)

Thanks for reviewing, glad you liked it.
