Irritatingly realistic
I wanted to hit my computer. Good thing I remembered it was a flash or I might actually have pulled the ol' Sledge out.
One problem, though. After all you made us go through to shut down, your "Windows" actually did. The REAL Windows would have sent all those errors, flicker a couple times, and show the desktop as though you had never sent the shutdown command. That, or, just sit there saying "shutting down" until you pull the power cord from the wall. Yeah, I know, you couldn't make it 100% realistic cos it had to have an ending point SOMEWHERE.

The Shut Down feature took some consideration, for the exact same reasons you stated, but I think it worked out ok.
Anyway, if it didn't shut down, where would I put that sound clip at the end?
