Reviews for "Faust - Episode 0 (Prev)"

do it

i loved the play, there is no doubt that the flash will kick ass.

No doubt about making it

You should definately make it. As long as you make a good plot to go along with those great animations you should be able to get in the top 50 of all time. At least for a little while.

more goethe!

yes, you should definitely work on this more. there is a noticeable dearth of flash animated versions of ye old classic german tales involving demons and such. hell, throw in some nietzsche for no apparent reason. this is really cool - I'm not sure what direction you're taking it from this preview, but it could be really cool

I hope the actual animation is more promising.

The preview says many things, but could they be taken the wrong way? The animation style seems like a mix of Hellsing and South Park. Could you be using South Park-ish style to make it easier? Will the story follow the true Faust story or will it open a new avenue to the background of Faust? As of now it seems to be in a par to sub-par range. It has promise, but will you put the effort needed behind it? Yes I ask many questions, but why?

TheZebu responds:

Just be patient, the Faust story will be told the way I think it should be told, but it will stick to the original play.

Flash Faust? How daring!

Looks interesting, but I wonder what your intentions are: will it be a parody or an adaptation of the play? I admire your courage to adapt this piece of world literature into a falsh series, but be sure to work over the designs and graphics again: in either way, Goethe's "Faust" is well worth to be treated with care, to simple "Rayman"-like figures won't do it. Try to stick to the personalities of the original caracters (wit and class for Mephisto, Faust's split personnality etc.).

By the way: I don't know if it's a goof or done by purpose, but Faust is an old man before signig the contract. However, I'm looking forward to the "Walpurgisnacht" episode ;) Give it your best shot!

TheZebu responds:

This will be an adaption of the play.
As far as graphics go, I might do some revising, but I'm still keeping the basics. I'm extra careful about portraying characters (especially Mephisto) so don't worry about that.

And yes, Faust is an old man until after his pact. I did that the way I did to avoid less confusion in the trailer.

Concerning Walpurgisnacht, yeah, that's gonna end up awesome; shame no other movies or operas portray it the extreme way I have it visioned.
