It really helped me out a lot. I used your tips to make my own flash stuff. I subbmited my first submission yesterday. Unfortantly, it got blammed. :(

Good tips, good explanation
Thanks man, this helped out alot. I have a problem though, how do you change backgrounds? I made a movie, used 1 background and inserted a few objects into it, but then when I erased the background and put a new one in, the movie stopped worked and just flashed between the two backgrounds back and forth.

You probably had keyframes in your background layer. Check that, just erase the background in the frames you want it to erase.

only 1 thing tho, i hace flash mx 2004, and when i go into the symbol to edit it, i cant move the cross the cross is alwys on the upper left side, and i cant move it. can u help me plz?

The cross thingy is always in the center of the movieclip, you cant move it, just move your object in your symbol towards the cross (if i know what you mean)
