Mediocre
I've got to give this both cred and dissmissal. It recieves credibility on the fact that it obviously had a lot of time and effort put into it, and the front menu page was actually quite good.
But this whole movie was so trite my eyes went on strike. It seems the author watches entirely too much Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, played too much Devil May Cry, or all of the above.
It's cheap how cutouts were used for the Uzis and the Car, but that's negligeable because not everyone can draw a sports car (I know I can't). The backgrounds seemed to all be recycled from older games (like that one where all those zombies are comming out? There's some guy with a mace? What IS that?). The animation was quite bad UNTIL the end, which actually had good stuff going. But the protagonist seemed to slowly mutate into Yusuke Yurameshi with Red Hair. Not to mention that the end involved almost every Anime "Climactic Battle of Superpowers" I could think of.
The music annoyed the piss out of me. I'm really not a fan of New Metal, and it's more of a matter of taste, but damn I'm tired of hearing that in action stuff.
But overall, pretty mediocre. I'd like to see the author do something more original. It seems to me his talents are pretty good, and can definitely expand.
