Reviews for "Punch Out: Chapter One"

very nice

I liked the 8-bit nintendo sounds. It brings me back to my younger days when there was only one good console on the market. go on with your work. 'cause this was one hell of a sprite movie. especially the sounds.

Would of been good if you actually animated it instead of stealing video game graphics. And the fight was pretty bad too.

You have a good idea, just the fact that the video game graphics ruins it.

AngelnX responds:

Bro you have no style whatso ever man! I can tell ur not even into videogames. and if you have any style, you fuckin suck

nice touch

hey this is great, the music makes it perfect but where'd you get the music? is it just the REGULAR final fantasy when aeris dies? or is it like a remix? kinda sounds like one, whats the music you used in the begining?

AngelnX responds:

The very first music was actually from a remix of Mystic Ruins from Sonic 3D blast

A flawed but promising opening...

Id have to say that I thought it was a waste for nintendo to not do more with Little Mac, and that i thought it was a cool idea to make a story about him ten years later. I agree with the last reviewer in that i thought the Final Fantasy 7 music did not fit. I thought it was kind of lame that some guy off the street could even get in a good hit on a former world champ, but it was a cool idea that he would be pissed about losing money in a bet. Good all around sound effects too.
To make the fighting scenes more stylish, I would change the view so that it was over the shoulder, just like in the game. It was funny how the trainer got shot, very original.
All in all, the plot is good, you just need to choose better music and tweak your fights a bit. Take your time with it, and Im sure it will turn out great. Good Luck

I'm speechless...

This has to be some of the best sprite work to hit Newgrounds. This is a great use of sprites with an in-depth story.
