well, its nice to see a classice redone, altho i liked the original more.. there was something about the original black cat embedded in my head that didnt allow me to characterise it's new yellow skin in your version. good work tho!

Um, the original cat WAS yellow... Hence, "he had a yellow cat that wouldn't leave home".

Funky tune, but dragged a bit...
The tune was funky and sounds like something I wouldn't mind on while I was doing something else.
But to devote all my attention to the tune and an animation derived from it?
It just seems a bit too repetitious for that...
I still enjoyed it for the most part though.
And your art was truly excellent - specially the opening shot.

.......it was worth watching, since it's been a hec of long time since I've seen the original. The original was one of first short animation I've seen ( besides cartoons ) which was very humorous and memorable. This re-creation of the classic from wayback when was alright.
