It wasn't horrible.
As an artist, you obviously have potential. Why not do a few close-ups while they're talking and get a small background to the fight. It'll add quite a bit more.

the effects were alright but the movie itself was just short and stupid.

I've seen worse. This just deserved a blam, not turd of the week. There are tons more I would of picked for that spot.
