Reviews for "Goodbye, love."

nice...

It's beautiful, not really sad, but really peacful and calm, I like it.

DylanGlow responds:

Thank you anarcheril! ^_^ I was trying to go for a peaceful sound while using sadder lyrics. I appreciate the review! Thanks again. ^_^

Needs better recording equipment!

I believe this song has potential, but the lack of proper recording equipment is going to turn off a lot of people beforoe they can really hear your music. The Shure line if mics is nice, I'd go with the vocal M58, it'll be able to record your voice and the guitar (at seperate times of course). Filling up the audio spectrum will really help too, maybe a little more bass to fill the void. Just a faint bass guitar would add quite a bit of depth. Keep working at it, and when you record it again make sure to post it, I'll be waiting :)

DylanGlow responds:

Aye, as I said in the previous response I'm hoping to pick up the SHURE SM57 instrument mic. and possible a nice vocal mic. I'll check out the M58 and see if it's what I'm lookin' for. I really need some better equipment for this. XD Thanks for the review and some great suggestions on what to work on! ^_-

Melancholy and Beautiful

This is a very relaxing, beautiful, and all around fantastic song. The vocals are soft and clean, giving the song a very soothing tone. I would generally say that the soft vocals are like many other things I have heard and not that special, but I find them special in that they not only support the strings, but the strings support the vocals. This is a very simple song and reminds me of the bands Sigur Ros and Radiohead in that soft vocals and strings are key in being in tune. I'm giving this song a nine because I can't really find a flaw, but it is just not good enough to give it a ten. Fantastic work.

DylanGlow responds:

Hey, thanks a ton Corruption! I love when people leave full reviews and give me some constructive criticism. You went and one-upped it with proper grammar and spelling too! Thanks for the great review, man! I like 9's more than 10's most the time because it gives me somethin' to work at. Thanks again!

Very soothing

The vocals are good, but soft.
The instruments are clean, but simple.
The lyrics are simple, but potent.
Each of these things as a part is good, together, they're magic.

Great track, i really liked it.

DylanGlow responds:

Lol! Thanks a ton Sapnyosentry! I'm glad you liked it and the way you reviewed it made me chuckle! XD Thanks again!!

I love the tone of the song. I listen to it a lot. The only bad thing is that the mix isn't great sometimes, and I can't understand the words.
I tried to write up a transcript of the lyrics because I want to be able to play it myself, but some parts I just can't understand. Could you post the lyrics somewhere?

DylanGlow responds:

Hey Mykroe,

Yeah, I could totally do that. I'll just have to re-learn it. I haven't played the song since 2008. I'll try and transcribe it for you. I think it's mostly a D/G pattern, but I can't recall off the top of my head!

Thanks for the score and review,
~Dylan
