wow. glad to see this today.

ive been looking forward to this for quite a while. since the form promo came out is about right, and really its almost what i hoped for. i like the housish feel TMM talked about with the trance base. plus its just so smooth after the intro. thats really the only bad part i heard. from 0:00 to about 0:12 was a little heavy. once the song gets going its amazing all over the scales. overall its a great song. i dont hear bad mixing but an odd eq really. but that just may be my eq settings in my computer. the breakdown is the my fav part lol. id personally love to hear some lyrics. i was looking forward to that quite bit. make this seem more like a produced piece of trance that i hear on a radio station.

anywho the goods:
i like the overall feel and beat. the progression of chords sounds great as an almost underlying melody. and as i sad before the breakdown just sucks me in.

and the negitives:
seems to be low quality but that might be my EQ or even just my crappy set of $50 surround sound speakers. and my tiny woofer. also i hear the mixing your talking about that isnt horrid but could use work but as you said, alot of it. and mixing is something i know nothing about. im just a pianist, not an fl user lol.

overall: great work. seems like it was alot af work and id like to see it expanded on even if you dont get the time or will power to do so. lyrics would be amazing.

Promo? I only gave that out to people I knew in real life. Maybe you mean the 30-second demo?

Yeah, it makes sense if you thought the intro didn't sound good, it was pretty plain and the kick and bass sound pretty funny together without anything else.

I think the EQ was fine, it was just the mix that lacked (and horribly too). Did you download the song or listen to it on Newgrounds? Because there's a slight difference, I think Newgrounds EQs the song or something. If not, it might be your computer, but I can't be sure about that, as I'm not there to hear it. ;)

Now, that's the most disappointing thing - if I had gotten the mixing right and then added in the lyrics, this definitely would have been my best song to date, sadly, it didn't turn out that way. :(

The idea of the chords as an underlying melody isn't one I've thought about but I guess it works - you could take the top note of each chord and use it as the melody. :P Repetitive but it's good enough.

The low quality could be a mix between the Newgrounds player, your EQ, your speakers, my mix, anything. I can't really say anything about that. :\

Anyway, thanks for the long review! Glad you liked it. If people who know their stuff when it comes to mixing tell me it's worth continuing on, I might, but for now, the project's dead.

Sounds Good

You're right, it is a bit uplifting. It just feels light. I can just imagine this song fitting into a sky like setting (something like flying around etc.).

I don't think adding lyrics or vocals would have made it better, as you pointed out. As is, this piece stands and stands very well!
