Reviews for "Tears For The Beloved (Piano)"

awesome

I really enjoyed this piece. I've been in a funk lately, and I think this has given me some inspiration! However, there was one sour note at 3:06 it feels like that one note needs to be raised or lowered a half-step. But other than that it was amazing.

OK. A good, nice, solid piano solo. Very soothing and whatnot. HOWEVER, because it sounds just like all the other Mac 08 July songs, I didnt like it in the contest since. It hink the judges are going to be looking for oringality in the song. And also if it makes you cry. It was very uplifting near the end. That is a bad thing in the contest lol. A very good song aside from the contest though. Good job.

Zero123Music responds:

As I can see, you are very experienced, and I should of created a bit more originality. I had not noticed how many tunes are slow piano, oh well - thanks for the kind words still, I have a long way to go in composing still though.

...when tears ar falling...

I like this piece. It's very touching and I'm wondering what the story behind it is. Why did you make it? What feelings did you have while doing it?
Just because someone makes sad sounding music doesn't mean he/she is sad...nor does it mean that the one just lost someone,....

..

You know... some people just don't know what to do with their life.. they don't have time for anything, do stuff they aren't supposed to do and think that this is fun. Fun to make ratings without listening to the whole song, just vote to increase their points and such (strength of vote and so on)...
However... that was pretty much OT! ;)

Zero123Music responds:

Thanks for the reassurance :D. Why did I make it? You know the chord at the beginning? Well I came across that when attempting to sight read - I have a VERY small attention span and when I strike a chord I think sounds inventive I have to take it all the way. Ironically the chord at the beginning wasn't even correct in the piece I was trying to sight read. (I am hopeless at reading music lol)

Thank you anyways. :D

Rocked my socks.

I can't see how this is emo at all like chaos believes some people would think. It's a great exploration of chord progression and in my opinion BEGGING for lyrics.
Great subtle use of strings it really helped make it surreal.
I'll have to see your other work.

Zero123Music responds:

Thank you so much for taking your time to review :-). And thanks for seeing my point on all this emo business.I would not put lyrics to a song for the sole fact if I ruined no one would listen to it again without the bad vocals rumbling in their head. Thank you very much for the nice comments.

Mournful

Another beautiful work you have here. I feel so sad now. :(

I love the intro. The first note is accented and quite striking. It quickly grabbed my attention and demanded I listen! That's the way to go about composing! The chords and melody that followed for the next few seconds were simply beautiful. Those first 23 seconds are probably my favorite in terms of melodic and harmonic lushness. The main melody that followed was mellow. It made me think of sorrowful times. It brought about some mournful memories. A well written song should do that. The chord starting at 1:27 was an interesting choice. I believe it was a 7th chord of some sorts. The section immediately follwing was introduced a bit roughly (at 1:33). I liked the more fast pased melody and rhythym; it was a nice change-up. I love the quarter note chords at like...1:43. They were slightly dissonant, but very nice. Yay, my favorite part again repeats again at 2:03! Those few measures would go very well fully orchestrated. Some striking brass and high registered string...I can imagine now. You transitioned into that smoothly. The transition back to the main theme after was not as smooth, but it worked. A good bit of tension and release there. Oooooh. There was a really sour note at 3:06 exactly. Sorry, but I cringed! The ending was...Less than perfect.

Work just a bit on transitions and those sour notes. You would have a VERY formiddable piece for MAC if you cleaned it up to perfection. Did you add the strings in FL Studio? They were a nice touch. Nice texturally, but infrequent enough that they don't get annoying. Great job with this one; I can't wait to hear more! Don't let those zero-bomber get you down. They are always there, no matter who you are. Why give in to their demands? Kep up the good fight! Besides, even in the professional music industry there are crazed critics who will hate you for no apparnt reason. :P

Again, great job. :)

Zero123Music responds:

Thankyou once more Blaze. I was considering recording again, but for that 1 note. And the impro in my terms went so well, I couldn't do that again lol. {The Impro Starts at roughly 2:36} I deliberately made the strings very quiet as this was a Piano piece and all I wanted was a bit more atmosphere. *shudder 3:06 makes me cringe also - when I was playing I hit that note and didn't know what to do and thus hanged on it for a bit, I decided to try and make it sound deliberate, but it's better than jumping away from the piano when I hit a sour note lol.
