Here goes nothing ...
Madness in color was obviously a nice tweak to the format, so kudos for that as well as going with "western" style in it. The hero actually getting wounded surprised me. Action is pretty solid overall and the fight with the two deputies? was pretty clean. Definitely worth making it in.
Shading is well treated, but if the sun's way back there /\ why are the shadows as if the sun was over there ---> and then there <---- and back there /\ then down there \/ They live on one fucked up planet dontchaknow. Something about the first shot bothers me, but I can't forward by frame so no way to figure out what it is ... just niggles the back of my head every time I see it. If you're not going to blow up the flowerpot when a bullet goes through it, either don't have it hit (kind of odd with that many shots thrown that he wouldn't but maybe it's the hero of the story lol) or have some water come out of it. Lack of color to the background in the last scene is too stark a contrast to the fully colorized scenes we just came from.
Continuity: Right before the pickaxe hit, there's a frame (2?) where they shift back to 10 feet from each other and then pickaxe comes out of nowhere as they teleport back next to each other. Maybe it was hidden in his pocket? Blood splatter after the pickaxe hit *poofs* into place in 1 frame. Machine gun comes from no one shown, while Madness at least shows someone wandering around with it before it gets to be used. And if this is a western, where'd the machine gun come from and while we're at it why is he using a semi-auto pistol? Last sentence is more nitpicking than anything, but hey =) The jump to the angel scene is a little too dramatic a changeover from the count-up device as there's no real lead in to where he is.
Audio: The western clip you use right in the beginning you slowed down during the close-up for artistic reasons. The trouble is the tune is so familiar that you find yourself leaning forward waiting for the next note to come through, so it actually detracts from the mood rather than adds to it. In the original fight, pistol shots are heard before they are seen, while in the angel fight shots are heard long after they've been shown. Drop in a quick ricochet sound as well if you can find one. Audio from the ending does NOT stop if you hit replay so ends up overlapping the intro.
Solid work, just needs a little sandpaper.
