I don't like sprites. This is no exception.
I don' t think this is the best way to go in animation. Sprites have very very limited animation unless you add on yourself, which I'm sure takes a long time. I saw that this was just a base to see what you needed improvement on. If you do keep this up and remake it, make sure you add some good music. I think two characters fighting with light swords and using mind explosions should be fighting to an awesomely synthesized song. Something fast. But like I mentioned earlier, I don't think that sprites will get you far in life.
