Reviews for "Fond Memory"

Almost perfect!

You shouldn't sell yourself short. A true artist recognises the mistakes within his or her work, and rolls with them. Sometimes what you may interpret as a mistake someone else will interpret as a work of art. I for one think it is a beautiful piece. There were a few iffy notes that made me cringe a bit, but I quickly forgot them in the simple beauty of this song. The song does have a sad feeling to it, but only in the way that one may think of friends or family who have passed and are warmed in the heart at their memory. Please keep making music good sir.

BlazingDragon responds:

I know exactly what "cringe" notes you are referring to. I'm going to see if I can edit them out later today. I've had multiple people point out the same spot to me. In any case, thank you for the advise. I have a bad habit of selling myself short, which I shall work on breaking. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the song! Thank you for the wonderful review.

Some parts sound messed up.
But yes, this song.
Its absolutely amazing.
The title goes with it too.

BlazingDragon responds:

What parts sound messed up, though? (So I can improve it)

Anyway, thanks for the review. I appreciate it!

Not bad at all!

A great piano song! I really liked the melody line of the intro actually. The whole song had an excellent tone and fell to it throughout. My one piece of advice would be a little variety. while the whole song sounded great, most of it sounded very similar. not to much dynamic change or just feel change in the song. Thats one of the reasons the intro sounded good was because of its difference from the same repetence of the rest of the song. Other than that great job!

BlazingDragon responds:

The intro worked, eh? I'm really glad to hear that! I will see if I can add a contrasting section or something. If I do, I'll write it in the author's comments. I definitely agree that this song could use more variety and I have a few ideas in mind. I did try to include dynamics, but the program I wrote this in was giving me trouble. (I used Finale 2007, whereas I normally use FL Studio). Close to the end, there is a big chord that I marked as fortissimo, so it should have been pretty loud. Oh well. :P

Thank you for the review, as it was very helpful!

The intro...

isn't bad at all, it's just not the best you could come up with. If you have any other ideas for an intro it might be wise to use. I do agree that it sounds repetitive, so I suggest that you either do something a little different with the right hand or after everything repeats a couple times, play the melody in octaves.

I hope my advice helps a little bit, and if not, I'm just an amateur at music anyway.

BlazingDragon responds:

No, thank you for the advice! I do agree that this sounds repetitive. I believe that this is because most of the contrast occurs on the background rather than the foreground, leading making it far less noticeable. I'm not a big fan of melodic octaves, though, sorry. :(

Thanks for the review!
