Nice start

Could do without the cockpit moving arouund though, and I'd like to be able to see my own lasers.

A few notes for you

First thing I noticed is that your loader bar stays empty but the bar fills off to the right of the loader. Not a big deal but a technical bit you should know about. The gameplay was indeed repetitive, and though blowing the bejeesus out of TIEs is fun it would be nice if it fely like we were actually going somewhere, like a planet of the death Star. Also, way too many power ups. They always seemed to come right after I got sneaky Pete'd by the low-flying guys. Sound was good (very loud) but a bit repetitive in the explosions. Fix these and I'll play it daily!

could do with some more work to it though... for example an animation of the x wing's lasers instead of just sound

Some suggestions

Hey man, I'm a professional programmer and these are my thoughts. Not bad. But the following are things to fix:

Make the graphics less pixelated, even if it means sacrificing size or the amount of things on the screen.

Nobody will want to play a whole game with just the imperial march playing, develope a soundtrack.

Make the gunfire of your ship visible, i barely knew I was shooting.

Make the ships lasers click and dragable, in the movies they had rapid fire, the user should have the same.

Make sure the ship doesn't leave the screen when they move the mouse to extremes.

Suggestions: could see the bottem if u go up enough. u need animations for shooting, make it harder and more objective based. make it so that u can kill bigger things, and more ships to kill. theres isnt just 1 tie fighter u know.
