'Summaries' are kind of dumb.

As far as your skill in the medium, and the craftsmanship is concerned, the work was basically on par, I like the quality of the smoke rings. You executed that well. The implied sexuality spoke well to your content, which I assume from flashes of the demonic representation of the lover's face and the coughing was both the positive and negative, and ultimately negative similarities between love and nicotine. The images you selected seemed to suggest a pagan ritual. The room, the cigarette, the pendant, the ghostlike appearance of the main character and the apparition all seemed to be well thought out and directed toward a ritualistic overtone. The imagery was approaching redundant. no image was shown just once. Overall, it was somewhat confusing. I'm not quite sure if what I got from it was what you intended. The main problems I have are the apparent lack of an implied stance of smoking in general and the conclusion. Also, the music should have been much more appropriate. I'd suggest Mr. Bungle's 'Pink cigarette'. Please tell me if I'm anywhere close.

Well, I'm curious as to what you say the message is 'cause I mean... something that deep must be pretty damn awesome.
The "deepest" meaning that I could see in that was that humanity (or whatever) loves killing themselves. The smoke-face was going all "I love you" and the guy continued to smoke and hwaht not and the the smoke-face bit his heart.
Anyways.
I hope when you say all that you said in the Author Comments, you were talking about how the song inspired you to make this animation, and the message is in the song. If not, as in you thought of this idea all on your lonesome and then just chose this song because you thought it would suit the style of the animation, then you should be a bit modest. Because... that is pretty damn pretentious. Especially at the end when you write (I forget exactly what you said) "To tell the director your feelings, e-mail [insert e-mail]... you write that as if you expect people to break down in the beauty of your work. At least that is the vibe that I get from it.
Anywho
As for the animation itself... the whole style, yes it's a cool style that matches the song... but it gets boring pretty quickly as it is just the guy smoking... and that is basically it. Just the guy, in a room, with a smoke face, and the occasional heart and smoke ring things. That's it. For an animation this long... that is not enough. It gets pretty unbearable. And repetitive. Also.. the actual animation of it isn't the greatest. For the most part you're just moving the graphics you have rather then frame by frame animation.

The whole thing in general is just not that fun to watch, with the combination of the repetitiveness of the scenes, the song not being that great, and just lackluster animation. All that coupled with how highly you seem to regard this.. just... totally unpleasant.
Didn't realleh enjoy it.

LOTS of shape Tweens

I liked the Tweens in this movie, they were used effectviely. But sometimes you gotta know when to tone them down. I almost had a seisure (No not rly, but a warning would be nice)
