I'm blown away and burned to ashes. Amazing. The artwork is professional. Beautifully done, with emotion. And I love it how you captured the feel of tranquility and loneliness of the dawn while on a watch. Alone and cold, but you can't help it but to admire the magnificent sight.
On the side note, is this LotR inspired? 'cause the helmet looks a lot like the one of Citadel Guard.

I don't know if this was what you were going for or if it was some sort of subconscious inspiration, but the picture really makes me think a lot of Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings. Maybe it's just the tiered design, the mountain location, and, of course, the looming shadow.
Yeah, it's difficult to escape if you have a castle/fort/city on a mountain- It wasn't so much subconscious as unavoidable. If it didn't look like Minis Tirith it'd look like Mt. St. Michel in france or something else like that. Thanks for the comment!
