anyways, some other issues Canada faced during the great depression, especially out here in Alberta, is while all this shit was going on with the economy, and the grasshopper plague, Alberta was also suffreing topsoil errosion, due to drought, and thus that hammered the Albertan economy.
one of our government's "brilliant" programs was the make work camps, where the facist RCMP grabbed unemployed men, usually the young transients and threw them into concentration camps, where they earned shit pay, (these camps were designed to teach working skills, but with a religious twist (ie no drinking and good behavior), needless to say the people were pissed and boarded trains to Ottawa, for the "Great Trek to Ottawa" they were stopped by the facist RCMP in Regina though.
