Reviews for "Black Magic"

Glowy

I have to say that I had to look twice when I saw this and stare for a couple of minutes. Its really good and I really like it, way to go.

Wow, this is awesome!

It looks simple, yet very elegant!

Any tip on how to color like that?

Artist-Lost responds:

Use multiple layers here are mine

Sketch
Texture
Base Color : Use a solid circle brush with fading and shrinking set to pressure
Lines : Trace the image with a black smaller version of the previous brush, then switch to white and trace all the highlight shapes and edges.
Shadow: Create a layer at about 50% and fill it with a dark grey blue, set that layer to multiply. Now mask that layer and using that black fading shrinking brush paint the light back in on the masking.
Bling: Using the color of your lights draw thin lines on the edges of everything that is facing a light source. Then using white, draw in the center of those lines where the really shinny parts are.
Dynamics: Grab the whole image, copy it and create a new layer from all the layers, keep your old layers tho so you may have to backstep after copying. Put this layer on top. Now using the lighting filter, create light shapes in the shape and power of your light sources, and apply. Now fade that layer to the desired amount of dynamic lighting. Fade the shadow layer if you need as well.

Black mage

I find it sad how the black mage isn't really capable of causing anything that good to happen to anyone of his buddies since all his attacks are mainly for destroying unlike the white mage anyways. The drawing is nice and I love the background, like how it looks like it came from a notebook. Very nice drawing, I like it.

Looking forward to more.

good

this is really good all the time and effort really shows

I like this :D

I like your style, I'm still a beginner at drawing and i wonder how'd you get the old paper style for the background?
And what brush do you use for coloring?

Artist-Lost responds:

The background is actually a result of using a scan from my mid tone sketchbook. I added a little more texture via a scan of a fake piece of parchment I made with ink on velum, and the brush is just a simple hard edge round set to a pen pressure 50% min alpha, a pen pressure size, and that's pretty much it.
