Reviews for "Hostage Situation 2"

I love this

It gets better every time

AWESOME

Loved it! Graphics are sharp and the sounds were excellent. Very well done and hope to see more in the future. Peace!

a few technical flaws, but good on the overall

a good view at todays kind of hostage situation, though rarely it ends up in any kind of real disaster (the nearest we got to that kind of disaster was the indian airlines hostage situation, which ended up with the terrorists fleeing in afghanistan), with the dramatic russian/european terrorist entrance and demands... that i feel was the most realiztic and cool part of the whole movie. the speech and dialogue was incredible. about the desert eagle being silenced, so far as i know it HAS been done... the barrel had to be lengthened and widened, but it fit the silencer well enough. another thing that bugged me was the overall nonpresence of the HOSTAGES... who should be the most important part of the gig... bombs usually dont have red and blue wires, but it was another nice touch, he didnt have to make it interactive...and the soldiers had no names, which lacks more of the 'hero' appeal... the final newspaper scene is the same in both endings except where it says catastrophe or survival in the place where the newspaper name should be... but not to go overcritical, the music and sound was awesome, and so was the preloader menu. alot of good interactivity there. great job.

Beast0 responds:

Thanks for the very indepth review. Its been a long time since i have had one like this, thanks alot.

Right, here's my responses to some of your points, im not trying to say you are wrong, just letting you know why i chose to do certain things.

Story: Yes i know something like this would never happen, and get that out of hand, but i was going for a mini movie approach, therefore i had to make it slightly OTT (over the top), to keep interest. For example, the 007 Bond movies, you can hardly say they are realistic, but they are OTT for the enjoyment.

Sound: Thanks for the speech compliments, my voice over team did a real great job, i will be using them (if i can) in my next projects.

Desert Eagle: Wow, you seem to be the first person that is backing up my choice to put a silencer on it. I really had no clue, just thought it looked nice :)

Hostages: Right, in the story, a terrorist orders them to the back of the plane. The reason for this was to cut down on graphics. The animation ran slowly as it was, and with the inclusion of hostages too, well, not only would it have been another month of drawing on top of the 4 already spent, it would have made it run incredibly slow.

Names: well, i couldnt really go too indepth, especially with the ammount of charactors in this. To be fair, its not a feature length movie, its a short mini movie, so i felt that the introduction of charactors and personalities would have been a large task for a 4 minute movie.

Newspapers: I am affraid i am going to have to correct you here :P sorry, all your other points were valid, apart from this. The newspapers may look the same, but the articles are different. I kept the same sub heading for a reason, to put across a point. The articles themselves had to be written up, and took a while, thats why i am pointing this out. Anyway, look again, and have a read of both newspapers, and you will see. Unless i have accidently used the same paper twice. If i did, then that was unintentional :P

thanks again, great review,
