the white parts

are awesome.... Im not really into abstract art but im wondering how you make the white part look like that?

Pretty Damn Good

I had to stare at it for about a minute to see much in it.
But even if I didn't, there seems to be a subtle theme of infused serenity that took me by surprise.

Art is meant to be contemplated for its full meaning to be absorbed.

never understood abstract

ive never understood abstract art but still..who cares. art is ment to look good ,i'd gladly hang something like this in my house. it looks good around the place.:)+it,d be interesting talking to people about what the picture is.

Hacsev responds:

Well, that's what good art is all about. Thanks!

Lovely.

This has been in my favorites for a while; I'm surprised I haven't already reviewed it.

As school winds down, as I relax in the summer, and even as I daydream in class, my mind or body goes to the sea. I've lived on the coast for so long, taking in the water, the fish, the vegetation, everything. To see something that puts me in that mindset through abstract imagery is a true treat.

I don't find any technical problems with the piece. No errant brushstrokes, no confusing color choices, and no distracting uses of shapes. The focus of the piece is right there on the whales, as it should be, but the background offers a contemplative plane of a kind of reserved darkness. Not evil or foreboding, just mysterious, perhaps reflecting the misunderstood nature of whales (specifically Orca whales).

I actually thought the centerpieces were Orcas without reading the comments. It's good to know I have some kind of intuition on this piece. Again, even with these abstract shapes, just blobs of colors and line, I'm put in a setting of absolute tranquility, where I can just be satisfied with myself and my thoughts of the ocean. It's a calming, freeing experience, and I'd love to have this take up some space on my wall.

Thank you. You got it all. Very hard for me to add to your observations.

Wow, that's great!

I have no idea why this does not have a higher score because it's simply one of the most awesome things I've ever seen here! This seems exactly like what a professional artist would do if he or she was submitting something to Newgrounds. It wasn't the image of a cartoon character or anything. It was the image of an abstract concept you made yourself. I almost feel like this shouldn't belong on the Art Portal! I appreciate all the work.

I love how the colors here just seem to be jumping all over the place. It's as if they are all being sucked into some vortex. This is the kind of stuff that would inspire any professional artist. I hope you go on to do more great work such as this to show off your skill. You have done this website good by showing us these great images!
