Reviews for "NSG003:HyperSpottheDiffer"

simple, addictive, but lacks depth

Like I said, this game is simple and addictive. It gets really frantic and the desire to be on top score Is the only real motivation. But unfortunately the graphics are bad, theres only one board and no rest, and the scoring system sucks because it only accounts for how many times you found the difference, discluding things like how much time you had left, which would ad a real element to to score board. Also there are only 7 differences and it just randomly chooses a difference after about 3 times.

To the creator I suggest an expanded verson with multiple boards with more differences, like a hard with lots of little differences, or a medium with like 15 differences. Also like I said up there, improve scoring to include the time factor.

Bezman responds:

Sorry to hear you thought the graphics were bad... I was rather pleased with them. :(

By 'no rest' I take it you mean there's no pause between getting one difference and the next coming up? I thought this added to the frantic nature of the game.

I did think about having something like Wario Ware's in-between bits, but I wouldn't know how to get it to speed up, and so I left it out for that reason.

The small number of differences is part of the whole concept. The idea is that the differences are obvious and by the time it's sped up, it's more a test of reactions than anything else.

Also, I really don't think taking account of how quickly you find the differences would really improve the scoring system. I assume you mean that I should do something along the lines of award a number of points according to the % of time left?

Well, firstly, that would kind of destroy the way each game gets more and more frantic. Secondly, it would actually require an explanation - a serious drawback in my eyes.

Still, thanks a lot for a well though-out review and some ideas that really made me think. :)

I suggest you try my 'Spot the Difference' game, since that's a more traditional game and it sounds as if that's kind of what you're after.

Pretty Good.

I liked it. I got a score of 57. Pretty simple concept and it's just a matter of being able to click fast enough.

Bezman responds:

Well, click AND think. ;p

Glad you liked. :)

Quite a fun game

The graphics in this flash were alright. The sound, the clapping noise was pretty annoying when it got played loads of times. Other sounds, there's the "duh" one. This game, it was quite fun trying to spot the difference. The most I got on this game was 50, which I think is pretty good since the timer did go faster and faster. Got slow at the end there. Oh well.

Bezman responds:

Glad you liked it. I think over 60 is a great score.

Clapping - everyone seemes unanimous (Sp?) in condemning it. Myself included.

Maybe I'll edit the game and just take that out.

I like aural feedback though.

It's hard to know what to do...

ZOMG HYPERSPOTTHEDIFFERENCE

Pretty good

It was rather simple and easy, if it was a much harder image then it could have been better. It just repeated itself after awhile

The graphics and sound were pretty good.

Keep up the good work

Bezman responds:

Again with all 6s. Why?

With games, it's nice if you tell us how far you got.

Regardless, you again gave positive comments, constructive criticism and an overview.

6/10

Not bad

An okay game. Could have benefitted a lot from better graphics, some 'levels', and some bangin' music. That applause sound wears thin -real- quick.

If you got better pics and if you had it start slower, and then when your score hit like 30 you got a pause, applause, and switched to a new picture with faster countdown times for another 30 -- THAT would be a really GREAT game.

Bezman responds:

Cheers.

You're definitely right about the sound.

I was actually quite pleased with the graphics, but I suppose - as my friend says - it looks worse because there only is one picture.

I like your idea for various levels. I may well implement something along those lines when I come back to this idea.

I suppose some loop, along with a 'stop music' button would make it better. One thing that put me off is that I don't know how to speed music up, so I though the music would start seeming a bit slow as the game sped up.

Still, when I return to the idea, I'll try to address the issue.

Cheers for a genuinely useful review. :)

Stay funky,
Bez
