I definitely don't think that the length of the song is a flaw at all. That was very epic. I think it's super impressive when instrumental can evoke specific emotion. It was griping, and felt like a journey.
I relate to things never quite feeling finished, and that perfectionist nit pick mode. But I think you did the right thing with ripping the bandaid off, so to speak. I liked it a lot, and think it turned out great.

This slaps, feels like a final boss theme of sorts, i especially love the ending with the weaker beat, as if the challenge is over :)
