Reviews for "X Showered Zen"

Good job on the first attempt

Good job on originality, but there was too much originality because I feel as if it were repetitive with one same tune and beat playing over and over and over. You were diverse though with adding a few extra sounds then it goes away. Well this would be cool in some ninja scene. Well in the future attempts of techno I fish you luck.

Hey thanks for the review man! I'll work on mixing it up more in my next one.

~ :D ~

Not bad I also agree with them on this. Quite jumpy but has a commanding quality.

Nessbeatsfox responds:

Thanks a lot for the review man!

that was cool

i can hear what cooldsunshine was saying about ti sounding jumpy, but since aphex twin is one of my favorite techno artists, jumpy is good to me!
i like how the beat changed from fast to slow every other pattern at one point; gave it a more eurotechno feel than the typical american counterparts.
intricacy in basslines is absolutely essential to music in any genre or format, but to again agree with cooldsunshine, the lack of a clear tune or theme in this song did hurt the replay value. being able to hum along to a song is important to some people. try switching up between the crazy frenetic bassline and a tuneful one. this creates an overarching theme to the piece as a whole, and makes it a little more interesting.

Nessbeatsfox responds:

Thanks for the review Gunshy! Yeah, I'll look into the more of a melody thing like I told Cooldsunshine. I like the jumpiness to it also, so maybe I can work on making it jumpy, but having a good lead at the same time. The bassline seems to be more important then I thought, so I'll start focusing on making it more melodic. Thanks again for the review!

This definetly qualifies as techno!

Yes, this is very harsh sounding all right. So yes, its techno, not dance or DNB so don't worry about it.

However, I think it was a bit jumpy. It shows talent, as the notes being complicated and all that, but it lacks a catchy melody. While techno might be agressive, it's more than bunch of electronic sounds playing at a fast rythm. There's synth, with slow, long notes that accompagny the quickness in the background, there's usually a more regular bass etc.

However for a first impression, it's impressive, good job and keep it up!

P.S : I'm no techno pro, I do remix, check out my stuff to have an idea of how I see techno!

Nessbeatsfox responds:

Hey thanks a lot for the review man! I really appreciate the criticism. I'll have to look more into the slower notes and better bass and such. I can see what you mean by not having a catchy melody, and I'll work on that too. I don't usually write this style, but I had fun making this song, and I'll probably make a few more. Thanks again!
