Reviews for "How Would You Feel?"

Nice art on the one guy

That's a 16 bit Mario, but, you probably knew that, and I'm sure there are a dozen other people who have pointed that out. I don't think this movie was very fair because there are some really really good sprite movies out there (the Ragnarok Online Music Video for example). To categorize all sprite movies as crap isn't a very fair comparison.

Text on Nameless guy was hard to read because of the gradient fill on his bubble, it ate up the text pretty bad.

i really dont know

but the mario you used is 16 bit mario not 8 bit anyway good flash

JCastillo responds:

Woops, my mistake there so then I guess Mario looks like a, Not so wrinkled paper then?

Whoa, whoa! Hey, now...

To be fair, the Mario sprite you used in this movie was from "Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" for the Super Nintendo, which was a 16-bit system. =P But rest assured, that's just a SonChichi observation designed to piss you off with its know-it-all-ed'ness.

As for the movie's theme, I'm going to say I don't agree with it, but I'm not going to knock the movie based off of its "message" alone. Graphics don't matter as much as quality humor or storylines do, and, don't forget, those 8-bit and 16-bit sprites hold a lot of valuable nostalgia qualities for those of us who played those particular video games when we were kids. This is why sprite movies continue to be so popular at Newgrounds; not because graphics mean EVERYTHING to the casual NG viewer, but because we're all basically immature punks who think that unearthing an old Mario gif and having it hump a crappy Princess Toadstool gif is funny.

Still, your movie has some redeeming qualities of its own. I hope you're not REALLY trying to push any anti-sprite-movie agendas, though, because that would upset a lot of us. Be nice to our sprite movies... they practically built Newgrounds' fan base!

..yeah...

i think people should really try to look past the graphics sometimes. like 8-bit theatre, sure its 8 bits but its funny. im not defending all 8-bit movies, but i would encourage everyone to try new things. like myself, my movies arent the prettiest things in the portal, but i tried to make them funny to compensate...and isnt that the ultimate goal? to make people laugh.

Don't agree.

Before I get off about how I don't agree lets rate the actual movie itself. It was an original way to get an unoriginal message to people. It's a sad movie in general (meaning the main character has a inferiority complex err I think). Great sound, fitted the flash perfectly. I would comment about the characters looks both Mario and that anonymous 3D rendered bald man, but I don't know what type of style you were trying to make.

Now thats over with, I don't agree with people having to stop making sprite movies at all. If they want to, go ahead as long as it's decent. I would perfer to watch a decently funny or good sprite flash then a crappy very carefully drawn out unfunny/cool drawn movie. I perfer plot quality more vs Eye Candy because Eye candy doesn't make a story, the actual plot does and the events that take place in it. Also should a person want to make a sprite movie why stop them? If they're not in it for the money then there isn't any harm in it.
