Reviews for "y my 7th movie"

yes...

...i was retarded on part 1. Like the reviewer for part 1 said, linearity is a bit of a problem. Because the game is so linear, the time to finish it is greatly reduced. [SPOILER WARNING!!] Of course it sucks that you had to split it into two parts and so say if you didn't pick up the car keys there's really no way to go back and get them.

Violet-AIM responds:

Thanks for coming back to finish the rest of the game. I'd like to comment about the "linear" aspect of the game, so you understand why it was that way. Maybe I'm wrong, but when it comes to flash, there are limitations in making games. I did make it more like an "interactive movie", everything leading to one path. It is possibly to make many, many possible outcomes to every choice made by the player, but that would mean an even larger file size, and I already hated how big of a file I ended up with (parts 1 and 2= approx 3 MB....large file size due to sound and to numerous key frames). Again, thanks for the review. :)

Good concept, good graphics, but the music was drowned out and the noises were annoying. it is still good.

Violet-AIM responds:

thanks

Great concept.....but

It was a great idea for a game, and I know it's your first, so here's a few good ideas/bad ideas in the game, just to help ya' out:
1. A plot, to tell maybe why the zombies rose from the dead would be nice, and maybe even to tell who is being played in game, and why the story is connected to them somehow.
2. The instructions on which way to go, what to collect, and when/how to kill a zombie kinda made the game TOO SIMPLE & LINEAR-feeling.
Many people bear with the arrows telling them to go in a direction, but being told what to do at each of them cuts the surprise out of it completely.
3. The weapons should have had enough ammo to kill more than one zombie filled location, and it would be great to be able to pick what usable weapon you want to use at each of them, instead of being told/made to use one set weapon.
4. Also having one path to the car is great, but a couple of dead end, maybe even end of game side paths would have been great, like those choose your own adventure books.
5. Don't worry about big game size, you could have easily put both parts together, and it would have loaded maybe 7-12 seconds later on than normal. We in the broadband field love you author's big games and stuff, and even 56k'ers can get it quick enough to play reasonably.
6.Put some more creepy music into it, loved the first set BTW.
7. Don't let the zombies kill the main player that quickly, and mauybe put a health bar/meter on the screen at all times.
8. Allow the main player to have his weapon of choice be on-screen at all times, with the ability to switch to a different available weapon whenever the plauyer feels like doing so.(Loved the spacebar shooting part though, but the click and hold on a weapon to get it going first took too long IMHO.)
9. Maybe put an intro to set up the story of some sort, maybe even a small outro and/or list of next goals to be accomplished maybe next in the next game at the end of the previous one, maybe in the outro perhaps.

Hoping this brings a new game from this author to newgrounds that I can give a 4 rating to, maybe even a 5:).

Violet-AIM responds:

Wow, that's a lot of suggestions. I didn't really know what I was doing at the time, and I'm still not that good at making games. I decided not to continue that zombie thing. Anyways, my friend and I are making a game for Ghost Motel 8. Hopefully, that might be more pleasing to you. Thanks for the review tabitha123. lol Tabitha is the name of one of my characters in Ghost Motel. :)

okay

the game was way too short

Violet-AIM responds:

sorry

Just a continuation of the first one so same review really:

Who builds a house with the only entrance being a bathroom? I mean really, imagine coming home to your wife taking a shit. Who would want that? I didn't see any other way out. Why is kitchen so huge, and the living room so small?

Odd house layout aside... The game was at best okay. Combat wasn't hard, just as easy as spamming space bar, definitely wasn't that fun though.

I do wish you could actually decide where to go rather than the game making you do everything as you went.

Cars don't often launch things like that... but I'll take it.
